The old honor grind system was a disaster. I know more then one person who got GM, and by the end of it was so burned out that as soon as they got it, they either quit PvPing or quit WoW entirely. The focus of it was simply playing constantly, not on having fun while you were doing it. This is a game, and games are supposed to be fun. The new system lets people go at whatever pace they want, so there is a lot more chance to say "you know I don't feel like doing AV tonight."Do people really want to give that up in exchange for "if I don't do AV tonight I might not rank up in 3 weeks!!"

That's actually what happened to me... I got completely burnt out of WoW after constantly trying to keep up with the ranks, and oh goodness if I had to go somewhere on vacation my honor and rank would go DOWN! After I got my goal rank, I got a new job and that was pretty much the end of my WoW playing until a week ago
