Its not a bad idea.

Instead of no loot, you could just combine the loot tables from non-heroic 5 mans. That way you do get some vendor trash and coin but none of the epic gear.

Its a good way to let those of us who don't have the time to dedicate to raiding to see the instance and yet preserve the e-peens of the raiders.
