Well Fed Buff: Sideways Snowman
Every Thursday, Well Fed Buff will be serving up the tastiest dishes to boost your HP and stats, just in time for your weekend gaming.
Winter Veil is over for the year, but it's still frosty outside – and everyone wants something to make 'em feel as warm and cozy as a bedbug in an Ironforge inn. Reader Lenny sent us his solution, in the form of a Warcraft-inspired drink he concocted on New Year's Eve.
Sideways Snowman
¾ shot Hpnotiq®
¾ shot vanilla vodka
Sprite®
Over half a glass of ice, add 3/4 shot of Hpnotiq® and 3/4 shot of vanilla vodka. Stir a bit, and pour in Sprite® to fill.
Lenny advises us that you can leave the Sideways Snowman relatively unstirred for a stronger effect as you drink it down, or mix it thoroughly for a more consistent flavor. Either way, we think this sounds worthy of a Winterspring frost!
[Thanks, Lenny!]

can 7up work too not much of a fan of the coke product
yes 7up is from pepsi
Shefki Jan 3rd 2008 11:05PM
No Seven-up is not a Pepsi product. Sierra Mist is a Pepsi product. Seven-up is a product of Dr-Pepper/Seven-up which is now part of the Cadberry Schweps.
Many people think Dr-Pepper is a Coke product and Seven-up a Pepsi product because many Coca-cola bottlers have Dr-Pepper rights and Pepsi bottlers have Seven-up rights.
Outside the US Seven-up is almost exclusively licensed by Pepsi.

WoW... way to promote drinking.
-10 for this site.
parti Jan 3rd 2008 11:12PM
you do realize that WoW has virtual alcoholic drinks in right?
Matt Jan 3rd 2008 11:13PM
I must have missed the memo that said that alcohol was banned and no one should drink, ever. WoW promotes drinking, tard. I'm embarrassed to share a name with you.
Travis Green Jan 4th 2008 12:12AM
Not level 21.... er... I mean, 21? /laugh
ThorinII Jan 4th 2008 9:09AM
I thought this comment was a joke. I don't personally drink much, but I'm not offended by the fact that others do. So, I assumed he was kidding. Maybe not?!?

"You do not meet the level requirements for this item"

Haha, I love it. Nice comments.
I think the issue the grayed-out commenter has with this post is that WoW is played by millions of under-age individuals, and that exposing them to alcohol could lead to potentially illegal behaviors. But there is a problem with that logic: in putting the responsibility of presentation on Blizzard and WoW Insider, you are in effect removing parental responsibility from the equation. That, simply, isn't responsible in of itself.
The issue here is about parenting. I say this as a soon-to-be daddy of a baby girl, and the responsibility that comes with that position scares me so much. But, raising her will be my job, and my job only. Not a company's job. Not a website's job. My job.
Making light of that perspective is very key in understanding "responsibility" itself.

Via Wikipedia:
"HPNOTIQ is a 35 proof (17% ABV) French fruit liqueur made from vodka, a touch of cognac, and tropical fruit juices. It is available in the United States and over 30 countries worldwide including, the United Kingdom, Canada, Sweden, Australia, Japan, The Netherlands and France. The drink itself is blue in color."
I got a bottle. It was ok... I liked it better replacing Vanilla Vodka with Vanilla Rum.

No, I'm more concerned with the children that might view this site. As for the feeble attempts at putting me down, it didn't work, because in the end you're just a tickle in your daddies balls sack that just happened to escape.
Felwrathe Jan 4th 2008 6:06AM
....and children are going to make their own Sideways Snowman?
I don't see the problem here.
ThorinII Jan 4th 2008 9:15AM
You're going to say you're concerned about children reading this then say something like this??? o.0
I find this comment more inappropriate for children than an article about something you see adds for on TV, in magazines, on billboards… heck; everywhere.
Comely Jan 4th 2008 6:17AM
Add a crushed mint leaf imo.

You're concerned about children coming to this site and seeing alcohol being promoted, but you find ok to make a comment like "you're just a tickle in your daddies balls sack that just happened to escape."?? GG nub!

this looks delicious... and seriously... /shame on Matt W.
Alchohol, and children, and the internet are all responsibilities... if the comments of the column show anything its that we appreciate WFB's delicious drink ideas.

WoW has alcohol in it, for GOD's SAKE BREWFEST was a holiday and you are whining about this site having a drink mix? I swear, stupid people, they are everywhere
