I don't know that this film is that great (although there are some cool editing tricks), but what I think is even cooler is the idea behind it. This guild (Midnightmist, though I can't find them on the Armory anymore) had a tournament to the death in Gurubashi Arena-- every player put in 5g, and at the end, the last man standing gets the whole pot.
Obviously they duel the whole time (and I won't reveal who wins, but you could probably guess), but I think this would also be a fun guild event as a battle royale-- everybody jumps into Gurubashi, and whoever stands over the corpses at the end wins. Would be over a lot faster, for sure, but it would still be fun.
This is one of our regular guild events that we like to do. We usually get 5 v 5's going and have about 5 teams. Each team puts in 25g (5 each) and we do a tourney style battle to the death. In the end its a TON of fun with guildies and there's more fun for bragging rights than anything else. I would suggest any guild to try it out :)
Since you can't find them on the Armory, they probably no longer exist. This was held prior to whatever patch changed the visual effect of Hunter's Mark... it's the "old school" arrow and not the new "fancy" one. They appear to be level 60s, as well based on gear, but I was never good at ID'ing characters by gear anyway... as my Arena partners will attest. :)
I think the guild is actually Havoc. Midnightmist is the name of the character who did the editing I think. If you watch at the end they do the role call of characters and there's what looks to be an undead rogue with the name of Midnightmist, pretty sure if you armory some of the names then the guild Havoc will turn up.
cool cool. that looks like a lot of fun. those were back in the days that locks weren't terribly OP, like they are now ( i know this first hand :P i play a lock and its a giant fragfest the entire time i play him ^_^) definately going to propose this idea to some friends and guildies of mine...but im going to make the pairups a little more fair as opposed to random.
wow, i think that was the most pathetic example of how to be a rogue i have ever seen LOL..its ridiculous how the rogues that went up against the hunter and warlock lost so horribly. Being chain frost trapped?? really?? come on! will of the forsaken ftw and cloak of pwnage (shadows) ftw = GG hunters and warlocks..those guys need to L2Rogue or re-roll LOL...other than that i liked the vid, it was a cool concept.
This guild is actually Havoc which is clearly visible the entire fight, not Midnightmist. Midnightmist was the creator/editor of the vid...Havoc is a guild on Lightninghoof.
A nice little video I guess, and the music makes it worthwhile too.
@7: Totally agree - he "played" a bit and then kinda gave up from what we see of the one that lost early on to the mage, I think it was. He needs to slap himself across the face and wake up a bit.
Our guild did this pre-TBC, it was actually kinda fun, except it fast grew to another game which from my (guild leader perspective) was kinda struggeling - namely the game "kill the guild leader" ...
But we had fun, we fought massively for 2 hours, dividing people up into teams (pre arena as well) and then fought it out, with a lot of unkindly friendly fires as the likes it was kinda really funny... the winners team one first on an item in BWL the next time, and part of the pot...

The winner of the "free-for-all" version of this would be the tiny, nearly unnoticed gnome warlock spamming seed of corruption. ^_^

The winner would be a rogue just sitting there and watch the other guys die, and then kill the winner.
