A clockwork nerf

Unless you can buff them, that is. A few people found that you could cast Power Word: Shield and Power Word: Fortitude on the bots when they first came out, which meant that you could give them more health and make them invincible for a few seconds. Unfortunately, Max Bliss found out that's not the case any more-- Blizzard has performed a clockwork nerf, and the bots are now unbuffable. Lame.
Sure it may be imbalanced that some people can buff their bots and make them live longer, but this is hardly an instance of life or death. Let the bots be buffed, Blizzard!

why the hell would blizz even waste time on something like this?? making a nerf on a non0comabt pet. who gives a crap if someone blows up ur Clockwork Robot Bot. just resummon it.

I cannot belive they did it. It was very funny to see priests fighting with other's robots. I'm a mage and I laughed really hard when I first saw that. I got really annoyed when I saw that my robot was 1-hit-downpwned by another robot, I wished they had more life and different random attacks... maybe a pet that you could control or something. And now... that? boo. /rasp

Dunno, if they're unbuffed then you could use them as an alternative to rolling for loot! DKP and rolls out the window, clockwork robot duel is the new epic winner!

That's sad. Such a cool pet, why not let priests have a little fun by shielding their little friends. I fear it was some whiner on the forums that made them nerf it.

Power Word: Shield was never intended to be useful or fun.

A priest figured this out in Kara.
My wife put thorns on hers. It stripped off the shield. Took a while...
Heck we spent all of a Kara trying to kill his damn robot between the pulls and we loved it.
It wasn't like people should be upset over robots dominating the cities and laying waste to all robots that are in their path. It was just funny to watch people work together to try and kill a single robot or having the priest shielding every robot he saw.

I agree with this change.
Nerf Priests.
However, it *would* have been awesome if the robots created a mini-version of your toon with some of your abilities.

how exactly do these bots work? i was in ZA lastnight, and about 4 of us had our robots out, and they wouldnt not attack one and other.. but in karazhan the pervious night they would go all out on each other.. also, will a horde robot not atack an alliance one?

No, with the nerf, they seemed to have disabled attacking altogether. :(

I've seen some funkyness in the bots as well. Sometimes they wouldn't attack party members, or anyone else for that matter. Then when I'm not in a group they would start attacking guildmate bots. strange, but still fun. :)
It's too bad though that we can't buff them. Not that my improved MOTW helped any... He still died in one hit. :(

wtf are u talking? blizzard did the right thing
if u weren't battling on the arena then u wouldn't see these creepy robots attack you and waste your time while the enemy is casting on you!
it is also targetable so when ure on the arena by pressing tab ull target the lame robot and not the enemy losing precious time
so dont whine, blizzard did everything right

I was able to buff my robot with fort and pw:s last night in the AV prep area, but not anywhere else. Haven't tried any of the other BGs, but at least we can still have our fun while waiting for BGs to start.
...for now. =(

They probally removed it to avoid accidental targeting of beneficial spells.. imagine accidently shielding your tanks robot, instead of him, when a mob is about to take him down
