Level 1 cow raid downs 70 mage
The Eagles Pride guild on Malygos US had an interesting idea for a guild event. They all rolled level 1 Tauren alts and staged a raid boss encounter where they had to take down a level 70 mage. Apparently, a lot of thought went into the encounter, with the mage's gear and abilities tuned to create a realistic opponent for the little cows. Additionally, the mage, Belise, limited himself to using his abilities on certain cues and made good use of emote macros to further mimic a scripted boss encounter. You can check out the thread on the official WoW forums which includes links to the two videos of the entire event. The thread also contains more information regarding how they balanced the event and speculation concerning how similar fights would work with other classes. It would also be a good place to express your interest if you'd like to participate in another similar event in the future.
I've heard of some interesting guild events in the past, but personally, this one trumps them all. Have you ever taken part in something like this?

Very cool, the emotes idea makes it work. I love how the emote for the arcane explosion goes off and still people don't flee in time just like real raids. lol

It's a shame you can't actually read anything that's being said due to the lowsy Youtube quality.

/Agree, I wish they would post in a different format. =/

Can we ban the Myminicity spam already? It's just another dumb link game.

That's so awesome. I am going to organise something like this on my server.

We had 2 guild events to give away TBC keys. One was an azeroth-wide scavenger hunt. The other was a "gnome drop" off the twin colossus in Feralas.

NOWAIZ!!1 I was just thinking about doing something like this. Glad somebody else did it, considering I would never have enough motivation to actually make it happen -_-

My old guild had "The Running of the Gnomes". We all created lvl 1 gnomes, and had to run from the starting area to Menethil Harbor... and most of us were naked. Kind of scary, now that I think about it!

Heya...this is Belise, one of the two guys that came up with the cow event (Ayre was the other). Check it out on the armory for proof...lvl 70 mage, Eagle's Pride, Malygos, etc.
I can't say how thrilled I am to see that our event has become so popular in such a short period of time. Most of our guild events are failures, so its nice to see this one be appreciated.
I apologize for the bad quality of youtube...I'm going to try a host to filefront where it can just be downloaded. Its also on Warcraft movies...do a search for my name, or for the event...its under the comedy part. I've left the translation of the things I said somewhere on the WoW general forum thread for your viewing!
Thanks to WoWinsider for putting this up!

Very cool idea! Kudos to the folks who did it. Nice to see that the idea of player-made content/fun is not dead. :)

This is something my guild on Medivh did multiple times many, many years ago, first time back in the first year of release. We had an 60 Human Warrior (was the cap) versus n00b Tauren attacking him. We also did it other times letting our Horde side fight n00b Gnomes. We would make n00b guilds with funny names and have great fun with this. So Strength in Honor (Honour on Alliance) was doing this back when we were the WorldofWarNet guild. And this gets newsed as something new? We did it years ago.

There is no cow level...so they made their own.
This actually sounds like a blast, I'll have to check out the videos when I get time.

That was really cool- looked like a blast! It was also hillarious to see level 1 cows played like raiders =)
