No, he's not, really.

There's these things called "heroic instances." I hear they drop epics and those little things called "badges of justice" for people who can't raid. Sure, it's going to take a while to actually get the gear via that route, but it takes a long time to get the PvP rewards as well. And note that the PvP rewards from these outdoor arenas are often level 66 or below, so it's not like they're "OMG MUST HAVE".

Heroics. *laugh*. First you absolutely need kara or arena (s1,2 or 3) gear to last in heroics. Or alot of dough to buy epics off the AH. Second, only some bosses drop epic loot, i think its usually the last boss in instances. Otherwise it's the standard loot, which is probably fine for new 70s but won't cut it for kara geared folks. Badges, yeah you get 1 per boss. Most things cost 40 or 50 badges. So, if you do a heroic 10-20 times you can get *one* item. So don't count on getting massively equiped from heroics.

The absolute best way for solo players to get epic loot is via season 1 arena gear doing BGs.

And if you keep wiping on trash for heroics, you aren't prepared. I tried heroics before epic gear, and we wiped continually (we all had same gear level). NOw i go with kara geared folks, we may wipe once in total. Its pretty easy now.

Your post is filled with misinformation.

Saying you *need* epics (whether Kara or PVP) to run Heroics is ridiculous. We run Heroics all the time. Some of us have Kara gear now, but even when we didn't we hardly wiped at all. It's more of a question of knowing how to play your class properly and working well as a team rather than *needing* epic gear. And unless the instance was a level 70 instance to begin with, you will receive different rare (blue) loot from the other bosses, some of which is very nice. Only the level 70 instances have the same rare loot drop from all bosses (which I agree is idiotic).

Most badge items cost 40-50 badges? You mean except for the almost 70 items that cost 35 badges or less. Actually, only 17 items cost between 40-50 badges. Granted, some of the new 2.3 badge items cost 60-75 badges, but with badges now dropping in Kara and ZA and the addition of 2 badges for the daily Heroic quest, badges fall like rain. Plus, you only need to be Honored for the Heroic keys now. With some of these items being on par with T5 which will not be replaced for a very long time (if ever for some players), I say stop being lazy and hit the Heroics. Each will get you 2-5 badges (+2 from the daily) and some take an hour to run.
