WoW Moviewatch: Crank Dat Druid Boy

Rapper Soulja Boy released his debut album last year and immediately had a smash hit with the single "Crank Dat Soulja Boy." The popularity of the song has spawned many parodies and imitators, including some in the world of Azeroth. But instead of just putting the rap song under WoW footage, this Machinimist rewrote the lyrics to sing the praises of Boomkin PvP dominance. You'll never look at Deathchickens the same after this.

I'm not even a fan of rap music, but this video still made me laugh. I suppose you'd write lyrics over a Lamb of God song?

Or maybe 'Dora the Explorer' is more your forté.

Where I live we have a local TV station led by some students, it's all crap but it's still fun to watch, they don't put in much time and they aren't that good but some of the humor they have makes me laugh.

The same goes for this, not perfectly executed but it's still hilarious and at least they got the guts to put it out there.

As for TB, you've done a try (Born To Spec Fire, probably more). Would that too go in the category of "Flat our worst"?

I strongly encourage things like this, it's creative, maybe not original, but creative, so go for it!

i guess i should have been more clear. i really just despise the song of which the video is a parody; i thought the video itself was pretty funny. my first comment was fueled by my dismay at being seemingly unable to escape from that godforsaken soldier boy song. the machinimist did a pretty good job of parodying the lyrics, but the song just makes me want to claw my eyes out (or maybe Kujo's. no need to be a dick, buddy...)

way to overreact, matt. I actually did express that i thought a good job was done on the video (and the song parody for that matter). i merely commented on the over-saturation of a genuinely very bad (not to mention disgusting and misogynistic) song. then some clown started yammering about cartoons and bands i've never heard of, so i thought i should clarify. i guess you didn't really catch that...

i really hate to have offended your obviously sophisticated sensibilities, but i doubt misreading my opinion on a decent machinima and an abysmal song will affect your life, or even your day, in any appreciable way.

I Completely agree. In my opinion you can't spell Crap without rap. Next time Dan O' Halloran, PLEASE FOR GOD'S SAKE choose a better machinima with a better song. EVEN IF YOU MUST CHOOSE RAP, please find a better rap song. I know you didn't make this and you're just flaunting it, but seriously this is crap. You just got nominated for my FTL awards of the year. Check back mid-december for your award.

Even though I'm not a fan of rap or hip-hop music I really found this entertaining. Again, not my personal taste in music, certainly nothing you'd find in my car, but it was performed well, the lyrics were funny and relevant. I got a good laugh out of this, the creators and I have different tastes in music but we share a sense of humor. =)

I HATE rap! I HATE this song! But, this video is quite funny and enertaining in it's own right.
