Many free moves for North America

Earlier this evening, Drysc announced a bevy of free character transfers for the North American realms, in four groups. The transfers began today at 3:00 PM PST, and will run until Thursday, January 17 at 3:00 PM PST -- that's one week, for those who shun addition. As always, transfer ASAP if you know you want to switch servers, because they do occasionally shut down early due to desired population levels being reached. And now, the available moves:- Group A:
- From: Illidan, Sargeras, Kel'Thuzad, Mannoroth
- To: Anatheron
- Group B:
- From: Jubei'Thos, Frostmourne, Barthilas
- To: Thaurissan
- Group C:
- From: Aman'Thul, Khaz'goroth, Dath'Remar, Nagrand
- To: Caelestrasz
- Group D:
- From: Emerald Dream, Destromath, Tichondrius, Stormreaver
- To: The Underbog

this maybe a silly question, but why are paid realm transfer only for 1 character vs the whole group under an account?

The Monthlt Flow of Tichondrius:
1. Tichondrius fills and paid transfers on are closed.
2. Free transfers off are offered and the population drops slightly.
3. Paid transfers on re-open and the cycle begins anew. (aka: profit)

Yep, it'll never stop.
Mostly because they only give people transfers to realms that absolutely suck.
They're never going to suck it up and allow free transfers -anywhere- off the full servers while simultaneously merging low pop servers forcefully.
It's what needs to happen at some point, otherwise there's really no point. I'm pretty sure they could merge two low's to make a medium. The server Tich gets to transfer to has a whopping 5 raiding guilds, and the 5th one is on... Gruul.
Why would I leave the 30th best guild on my own server that's on Gruul, for a server that's so far behind? Honestly? I can live with queues more than i can live with a dead server that'll still be dead in a month when people's cooldowns wear off.
Blizzard needs to do the right thing here at some point and either give people a CHOICE in where to go to get off queued realms, or just stop allowing new transfers to high population realms and encourage guilds to go elsewhere instead if they intend to only recruit off-server members!

I'm on Jubei'thos at the moment. Queues were bad about a month ago, but the last round of transfers pretty much cleared that up.
And on top of that I'm alliance: Jubei's at a 1:1.1 alliance:horde ratio last I checked. Thaurissan is more like 1:2 according to WarcraftRealms. No thanks.

All the Group B realms are Oceanic realms. I have alts on them all, and Thaurissan really could do with some more people.
But is it only me who LIKES the queues? I don't mind if I alt-tab out for 20 minutes and play something else if it means I can get a group once I'm in. Long live queues! I call for nobody on Barthilas to migrate so I still have people to play with!

Group C is also all Oceanic. I belong to Khaz'goroth myself, even though I live on the east coast US. Newbie error on my part when signing up. Actually, newbie error on a friends' part who got more friends to join and then us. We didn't have much of a choice if we wanted to play with people we knew! :D
It's a shame we don't (or I haven't seen us) get Oceanic >> Eastern US timezone moves. After two years of playing on the Aussie realm, I'd switch.

I don't you about you guys, but staying in the Emerald Dream sounds pretty sweet. Why would anyone leave there for The Underbog???? It's all wet and squishy down there.

Emerald Dream is an RP-PVP server, i doubt many would considering transfering unless it's to another RP-PVP server.

I'm sad that Destro has free transfers, as it is and always will be the home of my main. I just hope that none of the guildies and beloved friends I've met will transfer off while I'm in a state of "can't play now, I'm broke." Guys, you know who you are, stay there!

I play on the Underbog and I find it to be a quality server. Please don't attempt to knock us because if you look we have guilds beyond Gruul and we are not even 1 year old yet.
