Two Bosses Enter: Lady Vashj vs. Princess Huhuran

- Shoot/multishot: From range, Vashj can shoot single or multiple targets with her bow.
- Shock Burst: Nature damage plus a 5-second stun.
- Entangle: Roots the target in place and does nature damage over time.
- Static Charge: Does nature damage to te target and anyone in the vecinty of the target.
- Forked Lightning: More nature damage, targeting anyone in front of Lady Vashj.

From a player's perspective, Princess Huhuran is an annoying resistance-based fight. But just having a high enough nature resistance won't win this one for you -- beyond her nature damage, she can also deal immense amounts of melee damage, especially when in Frenzy or Berserk. Her abilities are as follows:
So there you have it -- we have two bosses that are problems for players, but might not pose such a threat to each other. Who wins and who loses in this epic battle? It's nearly time for you to to tell us, but before that, a reminder: we're considering these two bosses with approximately equal health and approximately equal damage output capabilities. We aren't making this into a math equation of who's got more health than who, so when you cast your vote, cast it on fighting style, not highest level. You're welcome to factor the lore of each character into the equation, but don't presume that one would win out because they're in a higher level dungeon.
- Frenzy: greatly increases melee damage.
- Poison Bolt: high nature damage to the closest 15 targets, only happens when in Frenzy or Berserk.
- Noxious Poison: high nature damage DoT which silences the target. Cast on a target at random.
- Wyvern Sting: AoE sleep that deals nature damage if cleansed.
- Acid Spit: low damage nature DoT on Huhuran's primary target -- but it stacks.
- Berserk: at 30% health, Huhuran will Berserk, greatly increasing her attack speed and causing her to send out Poison Bolts.
Vashj is a mere Aristocrat hence her title "Lady", Huhuran is beautiful princess.

I have never faced Lady vashj before, but I am quite surprised to learn of the nature of her attacks, nature being a key world.
She was the ultra devoted handmaiden to the arcane and magic loving Ashara, who also had links with the dark magics of the legion.
Then it is quite surprising from a lore based point of view that Vashj basically fights like a nelf sentinel or helf ranger.

Vashj is a hard fight but Huhuran would win

It seems to me from the data given that Huhuran is a better melee fighter while Vashj is better at range, apart from entangling roots vashj does't have much to stop the big bug, so I think if Huhuran could close in it would be like a warrior closing in on a hunter.
Of course OTOH if Vashj good root her enough with her entangling roots and hit her with ranged attack Huhuran will powerless and it would be like a hunter kiting a warrior.
I think since we are assuming the bosses to be fully sentinent I think Vashj could kite Huhuran and win.

Bow vs. Bug - I think I know what would win.
Kikr Jan 19th 2008 10:05PM
yeah the Princess is just... a huge bug...
Eternalpayn Jan 19th 2008 10:06PM
This is a close one... if these two were to fight in game, of course, vashj has more strength and HP, seeing as it's a 70 raid... but we don't take that into account, do we?

I would have to go with Huhuran for this fight.
The main kicker for me is that Huhuran has a Silence spell.
If Vashj can't entangle, then Huhuran can fly in and melee her to pieces.

Vashj is a hard fight, but without her shield she dies very quickly and doesn't do particularly large amounts of damage. Huhuran, if equaled to Vashj, would rip her apart.

The only thing that gives me pause about handing this to Huhuran right away is the fact that Vashj can root and shoot. But I don't think she does it often enough for it to matter.
Huhuran on the other hand has two forms of crowd control; wyvern sting would put Vashj to sleep pretty often (and it doesn't break on damage) and silence would keep her from casting anything. Add in the stacking DoT and the fact that Huhuran goes insane at 30%.
Gotta go with Huhuran, but I think the winner will be Vashj, just because of the usual 60

Vashj.
Snakes can eat bugs.

Having fought both bosses more than I care to admit... taking out phase 2, both bosses the same level, Huhu would absolutely destroy Vashj. As that debuff stacks up, with no OT to take over... Vashj would soon be melting like butter in a microwave. This wouldnt even be close to a fair fight. Vashj would be taking damage increasing at an exponential rate.
These matchups would be much more interesting if looked at from this perspective: What if the two bosses were controlled by skilled players instead of the AI scripts? Would make it much more interesting!

Not even going to (re)read the Huhuran stats and allowed abilities for the fight. Not allowing anything about phase 2 of Vashj would make that fight one of the easiest in the game. Phase 2 is what makes the fight more difficult than Kael (in both their present forms) - even the spore poison during phase 3 is nothing compared to striders, elementals and Naga adds.
Replex Jan 19th 2008 11:03PM
Yeah, Phase 2 on Vashj is the hard part of the fight if anything at all, removing it would make her a joke.
wymonos Jan 20th 2008 12:18AM
If you take away Vash's entire phase two I think the Princess wins pretty easy here.

i know this isnt the place for this, but did all of wow (game, website) just quit working for everyone? can't seem to figure out if this is just me or if something just happened. i can't access the website and the game gives me the 'unable to connect' screen everytime i try to log in...
Triton Jan 20th 2008 12:35AM
Yep, game disconnected and the entire worldofwarcraft.com domain seems to be inaccessible.
Bachus Jan 20th 2008 12:37AM
If you remove phase 2 and the spore bats Vashj is a push-over. Huhuran wins it easily.
Gizim Jan 20th 2008 12:50AM
Same thing Thottbot, Wowhead and Wowwiki the Blizzard websites are all down and so is the game. I heard that a Earthquake just his no idea if that is the issue or not.
