Interview with Ludo Lullabi, artist of the WoW comic
The good folks over at MTV's Multiplayer blog continue their coverage of the WoW comic with an interview with Ludo Lullabi. Lullabi is the regular artist on the book, and it's great to hear that he's not only a big fan of Warcraft, but that he understands how important it is to use the game as a source-- he even draws straight from screencaps sometimes.Of course, the game can't always work as inspiration-- he says he really had to spruce up the Dire Maul arena to get it to look right in the comic. And he's taken it easy on the game lately while working on the comic. Not being able to play that much of the game because you're spending too much time trying to work on describing it? I can definitely identify with that one.
But all in all, Ludo sounds like a smart and talented guy. Good to know the art side of the comic is in such good hands.

The comic is 1337, now can we expect the movie is coming all the way? And Ludo will make big $ for sure :)

I love the art.
But the writing and dialogue seem so off-pace and... Downright cheesy...
"I'm sorry for draining your energy earlier.. It's just... You made me so furious and I wanted to pay you back but I didn't want you to get hurt and-" "Rehgar should've considered the energy-thieving ways of the Blood Elves before he put you on the team!" "That's enough you two! Pity your Shamanic Healing Rituals can't restore my memory, Rehgar."
All on one page...
But I love the art.

The art is great, no question. Don't mind the over exaggerated bust of the blood elf (noticed in game their backs are usually giving due to the massive weight they must uphold).
The writing is horrid. Worse, even, than Knaak's uninspired cardboard thin characters with laughably juvenile dialog.
Can see how childrens may like this, but if you want your fantasy RR Martinesque (or even to uphold with the continuity of the damn game) avoid at all costs. Actually threw the first issue away as not to be seen with it.
