Simplified WoW lore
Dawnbow has a solution though. This is the cliffs-notes version of WoW Lore. It won't keep you on the edge of your seat with spine-tingling suspense, but it'll give you a rough idea of what's going on behind the scenes of the game, without you having to spend extra time and money on other things.
A few responders to her original post on the forums say that there may be a few errors here or there in her summary, but don't worry too much about that. Lore fans often disagree on details -- sometimes they're both right, sometimes both wrong, and sometimes Blizzard just hasn't been consistent. Either way, if you're looking for a quick catch up on the essentials of the WoW story, spend a few minutes with some simplified WoW lore, and then check out WoW Insider's own Know Your Lore column for some the juiciest character portraits you'll ever read about a game story.

WoW = 2 fantasy worlds caught in mythic war between responsiblity and self-righteousness. The green guys and the pink guys make friends on opposite teams, and go forth exploring their universe, and document the mess everyone makes of things when they get angry. Hilarity and bloodshed ensue.
WoW lore gets stupider the deeper you get.
Anveena = Buffy TVS's Dawn.

Lore is boring, but if you like it this is nice for you. Me, I want more Sunwell loot.

Does anyone not have a reply button on these post here? I was told that is how you can post right under another post, but I don't have a reply button. I use IE6 and my rez is 1600x1200. Not sure what the problem is.

I posted about this on Dec 20, 2007. Here is what I said:
"Hey, I looked at this site for the first time with IE6 and you're right.... sort of. There IS a Reply link below each message, it's just invisible. If you move the mouse around it will turn to the hand cursor. It is located directly below each comment inside the "box" to the left of the arrows and up/down rating things. It is left aligned with the comment text. If you can't figure it out, put your mouse over the yellow star thing and move it perfectly left until you get to the left margin of the next (not the avatar). Hope I didn't totally confuse you."

Hahah. Typo: "left margin of the next", should be "text". I had to correct it the first time too.

woot, found it. I was about to post again and say that I STILL don't have it, but I went back to the original post instead of yours.
Big discovery for me today, even though I pretty much threw this topic to the curve.
thanks for the help!

I'm pretty new to the WI blog. I've been playing for almost two years (off and on), but only recently started devoting a lot of my time to the game. I'd been reading back through all the KYL entries during down times at work and have really enjoyed them, but was having trouble keeping all the events on one time line, being told in broken pieces as they were. I was hoping KYL would eventually do an entry like this one, but linking to it is just as good. Thanks, WI. It helps a lot.
