Me, myself, and Quel'Serrar
Playing a warrior since WoW was released has gotten me a lot of gear over the years. One of my greatest accomplishments in the game was getting my hands on a Quel'Serrar about two years ago. When I got this beautiful piece of equipment I had been 60 for about three months, and had done nothing but grind for gold. After saving up just over 2,000 gold, I bought the Foror's Compendium of Dragon Slaying. By todays standard 2,000 gold might not seem like a lot, but back then it was more gold then most people would ever see. Using my Quel I raided happily until Burning Crusade came out. Being such a stickler, I used it for tanking all the way to 70, and only replaced it with Grom'tor's Charge. To this day its still sitting in my bank. I've recently taken it out and gave it some use in the early trash in The Eye. I found that its actually not that bad of a weapon still. Granted it doesn't proc as often as it used to, and its stats are not that great compared to Mallet of the Tides. Happily however, it still kept the threat up against all those over zealous DPS'ers.
Having all that fun with my Quel again got me thinking... is there any chance for an upgrade? There have been rumors that there will be an upgrade quest, but nothing substantive yet from the mouth of Blizzard. Until someone in Blue posts on the official forums and makes all of us warriors happy, for the time being we'll have to just get along with dreaming for an upgrade quest. And maybe, just maybe, someone from Blizzard will see this and decide that Wrath of the Lich King needs another feature.
Do you have other cherished items that you dream about Blizzard updating?

I was literally the last priest in my guild to get my Benediction before the expansion hit, after almost 2 MONTHS of going to every Domo kill and seeing the hunter leaf drop over and over. The last time we ever ran MC as a guild was that night. Now my priest is 70 and my Bene's in my bank collecting dust. I'd probably bother to play my priest again if Bene/Ane were upgraded (and the damn cooldown between transformations was reduced to 30 seconds!).

hahaha! yup im waiting for some type of upgrading in WoW also.. well i dunno guys but i love the Hanzo Sword.. i know its a blast from the past and its just a blue sword but i love the looks and the speed of 1.5 and i havent found a new sword in TBC that has the same grpx and speed, if you have please tell me.. lol.. i am wishing that hopefully they may make a skill with weapon smithing that would upgrade weps to epics with some mats.. then i can finally upgrade my Hanzo into an epic sword.. hahaha! a wishfull thinkin rogue here.. :)

verigan's fist? anyone?
but that would be pretty cool. Some form of upgrading a weapon in the blacksmithing profession. maybe if you added some gems, bars, a nether or 2, and some enchanting mats. you could upgrade the stats of a weapon but keep the graphic? i know id have my Manslayer of the Qiraji out when i was soloing. that thing looks so cool.

Rhok'Delar or Benediction. Two items that when I saw them I knew that here was someone who REALLY knew who to play their class.

I still have my Quel in the bank and use my Thunderfury from time to time.

Unfortunately, Blizzard seems to be against this idea, stating that legendaries are only status symbols, and will be grown out of like any other gear. See Bornakk's post: http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=1371407838&sid=1&pageNo=1

Seconded on the Benediction/Anathema thing. Even after we had MC on farm status in my old guild, I still waited a good long time for the drop there, and I believe the other half was a 3 or 4 hour grind. And then there was the actual quest/event at the cave to save the peasants. I had to do that 2 or 3 times to complete. Lots of work, and a great item I used all the way to 70 (despite changing to Anathema). Besides all the hard work, it is not sellable or disenchantable. And so it sits in the bank.

I agree...
THUNDERFURY
Got my first piece off Garr the week they patched and put the item in. We thought it was going to be for a necklace at the time. The it took almost 8 months to get the 2nd piece off Baron!!! Then going through BWL to get the ore and getting 100 arcanite bars when they were 75g+ per bar!!!
Ohh the pain...
UPGRADE THUNDERFURY!!! PLEASE!!!
