Around Azeroth: Man? Woman? Tree?
While riding in Feralas from Desolace, reader Kahdrill noticed this tree next to the road. As she put it, "The first thing I noticed was the shape of what seemed to be a man, standing with his arms stretched out. Then i saw that opposite of him was what looked like the figure of a woman. Made me wonder if this was intentional, or just an accident of textures." Rorscharch test serendipity or hidden art? You decide.

I can't imagine that this wasn't intended.
Seems like one of the texture mappers having fun... Blizz is a big stickler for using "mirror" images for textures and flipping them over to stretch across an item.
A perfect example are tabards... notice every single tabard (except, perhaps the Contest Winner Tabard) is 100% symmetrical?
There's a blue post somewhere about it, and how they only do "one-half" of the image and mirror it.

Maybe it's a tree spirit kinda like those bobble-head guys in Princess Mononoke. ;-)

Its Xavius from the Warcraft books. He had an arrow shot into his arm, and Malfurion used his druid voodoo to make the wood in the arrow use his bodies delicious juices to turn him into a tree. He died of course.

It's the texture seam, sillies. You see it all over the place in WoW. In this case the texture is wrapped or repeated in such a way that it mirrors creating a random pattern that the human brain interprets as a figure. An infamous example of this sort of pattern recognition is the 'face' on Mars.
