WoW Moviewatch: Vurtne 5 Teaser
Vurtne released a teaser for the fifth machinima in his successful PvP series. The way he used transitions and effects kept things interesting for me. I don't think the music suited the video, though. With that said, I'm looking forward to the final release of the film!

nuking from a distance without the target actually engaging combat with you isn't pvp... especially when you don't show the 3 minutes you're waiting for you CDs... seems like everyone he nuked was fighting something else. Stop lying to yourself and show us the real pvp footage of you getting ripped in 2 IMO

Stop nuking from a distance? You act like you've never played a caster class before. Each class has a PvP strategy, and for casters it sure ain't charge into melee range and only fight people who are targetting you.
Why is it that in sports videos it's cool for us to just see the "highlights" and "best of" shots, but for PvP videos people bitch about not seeing them get their ass kicked? Jealousy, thats why :)

I love how PvP videos are no longer a contest to show off how much damage you can do, and are now a contest to show off how many effects you can do.

Vurtne was the best mage before TBC, so waiting forward to this :O

I actually have a mage, a lock, a spriest, and an ele shaman among my lvl 70 toons... so i would think i know a think or 2 about casters... and IMHO having shots of you hiding behind walls and AP/Pyro through them for a pvp video is just sad and is far from envious... I'd like to see some arena footage of this guy with his 1500-1600 ratings... very impressive

time between trailer and teaser was almost a year so don't get your hopes up :)

But I liked the music :p

Wow look at those big numbers!!!!!!11onee1111
*yawn*
I'd like to see something really new from a PVP video besides cheesy effects and zooming in on big crit numbers. Where are the videos of people running WSG flags, defending AB nodes, and healing? You know, things that actually win battlegrounds?
Now that I think about it, those things are pretty boring, though important. I guess I answered my own question. :)

Check out vurtne's older videos man... Hes totally not about huge crits and oneshotting ppl. Hes all outdoor pvp guy so you dont see him getting big rating at arena etc.

If you read the post on the mage forums about this video, a lot of mages doubt this is actually Vurtne. It doesn't quite have his style, plus he supposedly deleted his mage (end of vurtne 60-66).
Anyone else notice the multiple instant cast fireballs/pyroblasts on the same targets? Or the dragon's breath + instant pyro?

I could barely see what was going on in that video. Eventually we're just going to have videos that are all effects, without any actual gameplay footage.

Are these posters that dense?
Its a teaser trailer, your not going to get long drawn out fights like in a proper pvp video.
It's like watching a movie promo in a theater and then complaining you couldn't figure out how the story went.

Maybe it's just me but is that music from the second Turok game on the N64? Or does it just sound like it? Or am I completely on my own on that one?

Hopefully we wont have to wait too long, his videos were always the best... very few things come close to hig backstabing a rogue :)
Robert Jan 29th 2008 3:55AM
If u haven't watched 1 of his videos before this then you can't possible imagine how talented he is. i have watched all of his videos.
i HIGHLY recommend watching his first video to see just how good he was. when he was in blues/greens and tearing t2 people up.
best mage
best pvper hands down.
best movie maker hands down.
we can argue about this or you can go to warcraftmovies and see his latest video is rated 4.99/5.00 for a reason.

All good points. People don't know about Vurtne, and yes although there are some issues as to whether or not this is Vurtne, doesn't matter - the guy was a legend. Like what I believe 99% of gamers out there follow, "Anyone better than you is a pro, anyone worse than you is a noob", and "If you have a 1 out of 10 chance to beat them, they still got owned". Obviously players are jealous of Vurtne, jealous about his talents and dedication to make a video, and they've never ever faced the guy in the game.
Get it out of your head - unless you're 2200+ rating on a decent battlegroup (try Bloodlust), then you have no idea what real PvP is. 5/5 S3 is ezmode. Unless you're willing to make entertaining videos like Vurtne and be rated 4.98/5.00 by over 121'000 users, then keep your mouth closed.

Huge fan of Vurtne's videos. The only PvP videos I can stand to sit through. He was just so damn talented. Here's hoping this is the real deal and not some imitator.
Shadowink Jan 29th 2008 1:37PM
Wow, relax guys...
If you dont know about Vurtne , you dont talk about Vurtne.
Go watch their movies then try to come here and say that all he does is " nuke behind a wall ".
Like Robert said, " If u haven't watched 1 of his videos before this then you can't possible imagine how talented he is".
Vurtne isnt about big numbers or zooming blah blah, hes all about skill.. pure skill... and Trinkets ofc haha =D.
but still, thats just a teaser.. wait for the real deal and ull see the best mage in the world in action.
