Breakfast Topic: Changes mid-flight

Doclrea recently made a suggestion that would be helpful to commuters everywhere. What if, at certain points during a flightpath, an option would be given to veer off and land at one of several nearby destinations? Heck, I'd probably take advantage of such a system even if I had to pay a little more.
What do you think? Would you like the option to land at an alternative, on-the-way flight path, or do you prefer things the way they are? Can you think of any other flight-related changes you'd like to see?

Yes, please! This is one of my most wished-for features in flight paths.

I got this trick, if you logout during a flight, you'll stop in the next town in your way. You dont get any money back, but you dont have to spend all that time flying, and then fly back >_

Actually, you're not charged for a flight until you pass through each check-point along the way. Each leg has a separate fee, but you only see the total at the flight master. If you log out mid-flight, when you come back you will land at the next checkpoint and will only have been charged for the ones you passed through already.

Definitely would like to be given the option to veer off in case this happens also when you accidently click wrong FP. Furthermore... would be cool to have in-flight mini games or perhaps an inflight movie (i.e. perhaps be able to play through your cinematics while in flight or something)

If you log out in mid-flight and log back in, you'll land and the next stop in your flight path.

I've tried this before and when I log back in I'm still on the bird heading towards my original destination. Maybe blizzard 'fixed' it?

"If you log out in mid-flight and log back in, you'll land and the next stop in your flight path."
This is true, or used to be anyways, been a while since i tried. I am suprised of how few know about it

They changed this a while ago. Shame too, I can't remember how many times I took off from IF to go run Strat or Scholo and then realized I had forgotten something in my bank.

Yes, you're still on the bird, but you LAND at the next point in the path.

It's true, if you logout/login you stop at your next hub. I do it all the time.

It does work. You have to wait a minute or so, but it does work. Depending on where you're going, it may or may not save you any time. But, at least it gives you something to do. :-)

You guys are both right. It does work, when there is a next town! Often it's just a direct connection, so there's no stop in between!
CKN Jan 30th 2008 8:11AM
More times then I can count I have clicked on the wrong town or realized I forgot to do something. I would definately use a feature like this and would even pay an extra fee.
Jaymz Jan 30th 2008 8:19AM
As a previous poster said, if you have realized you clicked on the wrong destination, simply log out wait a few seconds, then log back in, you will land at the next flight point on route.
Drew Jan 30th 2008 8:24AM
That would be awesome!!! It's not like it'd be a huge change anyway since most flight plans steer through various other FP stops. It would be perfect. As far as cost goes, you pay for the original full flight and then pay for the "new" flight. We have to petition Blizzard for this!
ScytheNoire Jan 30th 2008 8:19AM
Yes! This is a feature that would make life so much easier. Thus, it won't be in the game for over a year. Now if it adds fun to the game, it will be removed.
theremover Jan 30th 2008 8:23AM
Even just a "turn this mother around!" would be nice. So many times I realize "Oh crap, I need to go back there".
robotrock Jan 30th 2008 8:24AM
Higher levels should get express flights that cost more but fly twice as fast (or faster).
Tommz Jan 30th 2008 8:53AM
That's called an epic flying mount >
robotrock Jan 30th 2008 9:46AM
ok then allow flying mounts in Azeroth :P
