With the improved leveling and questing in recent patches, I don't see the benefit of a Rogue focusing on mass-killing mobs to level. Plus, the author recommends staying stealthed most of the time anyway, so why not walk behind the enemy while you're at it and Backstab or Ambush? With points in the Sub and Assassination trees, these skills can kill mobs in a few quick shots.

As far as finding a dagger goes, there's one solution that is often overlooked. Warsong Gulch. Spend a little time in the Battleground at 19, and you won't need another dagger for 10 levels. You can also get one of the best swords there as well, if you really want to go that route. Even if you find a better main-hand weapon as you level, these PvP rewards still make nice off-hand weapons.
