Blizzard says 2.4 not quite ready yet...
It's been close to three months since the exciting, change-filled Patch 2.3 hit the live servers and a lot of people seem to be waiting in anticipation for the upcoming Patch 2.4. So much speculation has gone into what other changes will be accompanying the previously announced Sunwell 25-man raid and 5-man dungeon. In fact, some have gone so far as to post Bornakk from the forums comes to douse the flames of excitement, though, by announcing that Patch 2.4 just isn't quite ready yet. He states the obvious that Blizzard has "made no announcement regarding (Arena) Season 4," as well as the not-so-obvious that there's more to Patch 2.4 than just Sunwell. Bornakk -- who's been doing the rounds of the forums lately -- also reiterates Blizzard's tried-and-true motto of releasing "when it's ready." Leave it to Blizzard to whet appetites by announcing that there's nothing to announce. Does this mean another month before we see Patch 2.4 on the PTRs? That could mean an extra month of testing before it goes live. The wait continues...

I never thought of applying Becket's play, especially the existentialist aspects, to patch 2.4, and the patch cycle of Blizzard in general. That would be an awsome research paper, if i was a existentialism major.
Or did you just do a "Waiting For" search on google images?
=(

Haha, no, I searched for "Waiting for Godot". I know the play, and I thought it'd be good to throw that in. I'm glad someone got the reference. The original image didn't have the title, I added that. :)

What does "whet" mean? Is it perhaps a science made small version of wheat? Or maybe a new Asian cuisine?
The world may never know.

"Whet" - to sharpen, usually only applied to appetite, desires, etc. Cf - whetstone, a device to sharpen bladed object.

My friend, let me tell you about this wonderful new idea called a dictionary...
Naix Feb 1st 2008 2:03PM
Whet is still not common enough to be used over the word wet.
Alchemistmerlin Feb 1st 2008 2:22PM
Just because you don't know what a word means, doesn't mean the person who used it is wrong.
wyrd Feb 1st 2008 2:57PM
Why would they use wet instead of whet? they are 2 totally different words.

I'm sure it's been said that 2.4 was targeted for a March release - it's only just February now so Blizzard has up to 8 weeks to get it out, which still leaves some development time and ample PTR time.
Of course, it'll be ready http://www.wowwiki.com/Soon .

With Blizzard's recent request for player input. This patch could be the patch that Blizzard puts players input into the game. If that is the case this game could become even more of a power house.

Heheh..heheheh...HAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
You made a funny!

Where have you read this?

Is it just me being cranky, or is anyone else absolutely tired of people poking Bliz daily on Patch 2.4 and the subsequent news posts on the non-information?
V Magius Feb 1st 2008 10:06AM
No. It's rather annoying actually. People know that Bliz will not release an expected date or any real information on anything until they are ready. Yet, we still get a ton of questions every day on it. It seems a lot of people lack pattern recognition.
Don't get me wrong. I'd love some info, but I don't expect any until close to actual release and I'm not going to demand information like a two year-old in a tantrum.

Am I the only one who is still enjoying Patch 2.3? It could come out in Summer for all I care. I've still got alts to get to Outland. : )
Stoneblade Feb 1st 2008 10:56AM
Amen to that. As it stands, the eventual expansion seems to have more potential interest to me than 2.4 has, of late.... And even that I'm willing to wait for.

Those epics have already been confirmed as false.

I think people are not really surprised that a major patch takes time to reach the ptr but annoyed at being told it will be on the ptr in december..
They do the same over and over again. Give us a time it will be out and then never reach it. Worst case perhaps being Diablo 2. Then we get a standard answer like "it will be out when its done". Just tell us it will be out when its done and no more "2.4 should reach ptr in december" or "we plan to release a new expansion every 12 months" when everyone knows there is no way in hell blizzard will ever keep a release date.
Same with Age of Conan I guess ;)
