Breakfast Topic: What do you like best about your class?
Shia of Banana Shoulders has suggested a regular question to the bloggers at Blog Azeroth as an exercise to motivate posting. And her first question is an excellent one. After spending more than three seconds in any class forum on the Official boards, you'd think every class is nerfed, gimped and insta-gibbed in the game. But in reality, many people like their classes very much. Why?I've said it many times before here on WoW Insider and I'll say it again: I love my Druid for one simple reason, versatility. I can tank, dps, heal or crowd control depending on what is called for in any given encounter. Sometimes I do all four in one fight and those are my favorite fights. I think only Shaman come close to Druids in pure versatility which is why I'm leveling a Shammie alt.
So let's cut the qq today and get to the good stuff: What do you like best about your class?

Love my Shaman's ability to drop instantly from heals to DPS, both ranged and melee. there are a lot of things I'd like fixed about the class, but end to end, I love playing my SHaman, and it's been the only class to keep my interest.

I love my rogue because of how FAST I can kill something, and the ablility to take on 5-6 things if I need to. Sit and eat/bandage, I'm ready to go again. Stealth.. wow. Stunlock in PVP.. you can't beat it.
Firedraconian Feb 4th 2008 10:34AM
Stealth definitely take the cake. I've tried levelings alts, but I always find myself missing my rogue and the ability to stealth through a horde of enemies, take out the quest objective, and stealth back instead of spending a half-hour clearing it.

I totally agree. Stealth, shadowstep, stunlock, dps, vanish. 'Nuff said.

Paladin tanking FTW. Nothing beats getting healed through a 7-8 elites pull.
Elf_Skinner Feb 4th 2008 3:05PM
Hell yes man, that is the greatest joy of WoW for me =D

And when Captain America decides to bump off a critter and unto the next group, that's when you really start to feel a connexion with your healer, and an undeniable love for Ardent Defender. :P

I like my prot warrior because I can control the flow of the go during an instance. Knowing the pulls, knowing what can, and what cannot be CC'd, where you can go for LOS, doing the pulls properly and getting a successful run no matter who you are pugging with always gives me a high :)
Kuroyume Feb 4th 2008 9:02AM
agree, nothing beats the feeling of control that tanking gives.

I love my hunter because of his ability to solo quests. I thought I would miss the portal ability of my mage but I don't!

I love my holy paladin(s) as I know I'm capable of doing many things that others can't... I can go into high level pre-BC instances and absolutely clear them out, where I know other classes can't. I can kill some elites, be it pre-BC bosses or lv 70-ish world content that other classes can't (or, can't without fear/kiting).
I can heal with arguably the best mana efficiency in the game. I can taunt off a clothie and save them from death. If a pull goes badly wrong in a raid setting, I can kite a mob for a short while, then bubble to send it back to the group.
I guess, I love them because they're capable of a lot. Including auto-attacking mobs, allowing me to afk out and troll forums. >=)

I love my hunter because of how much help I can be to raids.
a) I can do massive DPS with little concern for threat thanks to Feign Death.
b) I can get any mob onto any tank with a hefty threat lead thanks to Misdirection.
c) I can DPS multiple mobs rather heavily at the same time thanks to my pet.
d) I can still hammer mobs when my mana is running out.

Top 5 reasons for my mage crush:
1) portals
2) polymorph:pig
3) trainable ice block!
4) never hungry, never thirsty and I put on quite a buffet!
5) Dragon's Breath, come on tell me a cooler spell animation!

Ive adored being a priest since day one. My passion is healing, and no other healing class has so many options of what to do.
In any given encounter, im topping meters, simply cause I have a heal for any situation.
I get bored with lack of buttons, and if something a priest dont have its lack of those. Once I count downranked spells Im up to 25+ keybinds I use in raid encounters! Hows that for a personal challenge

- While questing I can take multiple mobs, dot-fear-drain and finish the fight with full health and nearly full mana.
- Can solo most of the quests.
- Killing warrirors while draining throght their damage
- Death Coil
And still rule the damage meters in raid boss fights!
Affliction for life!

I love my druid because I can DPS in catform through quests, but tank my way in bearform thorugh instances. And still bring some second-tier healing to the party when needed.
Also - flight form. No chance to be knocked off mount (except by fel cannons in Blade's Edge).

I love my mage:
A) Stupid mage tricks - polymorph lvl 1 critters, fly up really high, remove armor, dismount, cast invisibility, laugh as people wonder how the random naked dead body just appeared in front of them, blink through stuff like the locked door of Arcatraz, etc.
B) Blink - I mentioned it before, but it's worth mentioning again. This spell is awesome.
C) Portals - I'm so spoiled, I hardly have to travel to get to anywhere I want to go.
D) Kite/snare tactics - It makes me feel like a ninja when I'm running circles around my opponent using various spells as my opponent desperately tries to at least touch me.
E) Invisibility - Just because the group wipes doesn't mean I have to as well. Also this is a great skill for getting away when in danger of being mobbed in PvP.

Stealth. I (typically) pick my fights. Of all the classes, I'm probably the best suited to killing clothies. Damage-meter topping sustained DPS, with threat reduction telents.

I love priests. I know, I'm a masochist. I love their versatility as a healing class (HoTs, slow heals, big heals, group heals, the frisbee, and even a hey-I'll-heal-both-you-and-me-at-the-same-time heal), the damage output and synergy of the Shadow tree, and even the strength and resilience of the Discipline tree.
I've leveled each tree to at least 60 and have two 70s currently with my itty-bitty Shadow priest clawing her way up. And, to be honest, I love leveling priests; people claim it's so difficult to do it as anything other than Shadow, but I've leveled two Holy priests from before they redid the trees and loved the difficulty in having to do quests solo and the feeling of satisfaction from knowing that I successfully did them by myself.
Plus there is no better feeling than knowing that I outhealed everyone in Battlegrounds and with less deaths despite wearing the equivalent of wet paper towels!

WOW I though I was the only maso here! I was reading the comments looking for priests and no... not here... still not here... and they HOLY NOVA!! There's another freak in here!
I love the priest because so many people are thankful to us when we heal them before they die. We are in the back row, and nobody notices us, until they need us. That's what I like.
It's like...
-HELP!!!
-No prob man *heal*
-Oh shit that was close! Thanks!
-hehe
