Account sharing and selling is very common... I know lots of people on my realm who actively share their account info or have sold characters. The original writer to the column doesn't like it because it's "NOT allowed" (emph. his/hers)... well, that doesn't make it WRONG... just because Blizzard says it is.Is it really that immoral to let our main healer run on a DPS warrior's account for an hour each day to run dailies so he'll have gold to raid? Or does Blizzard really think that non-DPS classes can really effectively farm (there aren't *that* many non-combat friendly dailies) without forcing them to respec? But gold's only part of it - what if they need to farm certain mobs for drops for mats? It's not always easy to do these things when you're a +2000 healer and can't afford to respec on a daily basis.I guess the bottom line is that, much like gold buyers, Blizzard is aware it goes on, but really only enforces the TOS on the most egregious cases.

blizzard says it's not allowed to buy and sell accounts because they lose out on money, we all know that's all there is to it. why level another character to 70 and run him through all the dungeons and raids when you can get a perfectly good 70 with the gear you want for cash? because blizzard loses on all the money they'd make if you were to actually take the time to level that character and gear them up.is it unfair to other players? yes. does it REALLY affect most of us? generally not unless you happen to get in a heroic pug with an inexperienced 70. i don't disagree or agree with "moralistic" but i really don't care much how people get their characters as long as they know how to play them, and in the end, does it really matter?

I guess I don't see much at issue. If the OP is unhappy with the guild they should leave. But by and large I don't see the GM doing reprehensible behavior. For example, if our main healer was going to leave the game and offered to sell her account to someone so the guild could still progress, it would be hard to say no to that. Either one of us remaining guildies would have to spend months leveling a healer, or we'd have to bring in someone new, make sure its a good fit, make sure they have all the gear necessary, etc. It's an arduous task. Yes, its against the TOS, but how immoral is this? Maybe a 1 on scale from 1 to 10, 10 being axe murderers and 5 being herb ninjas. Hate those guys.

I don't know if I'd call it immoral, but I'd definitely call it lazy. With 2000 +heal, you have ~6-700 spell damage without changing out your gear. I've farmed as a Holy priest before and after the change to +heal: it's not that difficult anymore. If you need to suck up another person's dailies resulting in them not having the gold it's sheer laziness, pure and simple.
