I always had a lot of trouble leveling up in STV, especially since there aren't any real "off-hours" on Blackrock with its large Aussie population. Generally if I quested from 10 AM-noon or so I could get a few quests in without being ridiculously ganked. That said, I have yet to do the full 30-40 grind in STV as is common on PvE servers on any of my characters. Yeeeg.

To be honest, it's more 20-40 that I have trouble with; once I can get into Tanaris and Feralas and all, it's smooth(er) sailing.
