Actually there is a reason to use Purify instead of Cleanse on occasion. If you're fighting a group of people that can cast poison/disease debuffs AND magical debuffs, if it is a greater priority to get the poison/disease off cast Purify and don't risk your cleanse knocking some stupid magic debuff off.

Against a Hunter, Purify will make sure you take off that Viper Sting, instead of the Hunters Mark (Rank 1)

also unstable affliction, this way you can get rid of some of the effects on you without risk of silence and extra damage, very situational though
