I've been able to be part of Omen's demise on all my characters, besides my level 47 rogue, who I lucked out and he had died just as I got into moonglade.... he had also spawned right next to his corpse, so it was a matter of running in the light, completeing the quest, and dying. Normally, I know, you're supposed to go into the light AFTER dying, but Blizzard apparently likes to shake things up.
It took a bit of doing on my first character to convince the alliance raid to actually help the hordies killing Omen. They said "But we don't have him tagged!" and I had to explain that no, we didn't, but the faster he went down, the sooner we ALL got to step into the light and get the quest done. I was very happy to find a group on my horde later that, though ragtag, did not get upset with the fact some people were only there to complete the quest (at 50) and I was actually viable at 64 to help the DPS and my poor little wolf ended up as the sacrificial lamb about ten times because of the AOE, but the healers were lovely and did help me keep him up. I was too young last year to even attempt Omen, but this year, I've found it a blast and help out whenever I'm in moonglade and someone's trying. I LIKE that he doesn't drop anything. Still, I really wish they had added more recipes. Why not add a leatherworking pattern for sandles to make those outfits look good? Or how hard would it have been to have a new cooking recipe put in to exchange coins for? If you're not an engineer, it seems silly to try to track down all the coins.
