Predicting patch 2.4
So it's time for WoW Insider to do you all a favor. It seems like whenever we attempt to predict the timing of a certain patch, Blizzard ignores whatever we say, and drops it right away. With patch 2.2, we predicted in early September that it would take "weeks" longer, maybe even last November, and instead they had it out within the month. And with patch 2.3, we guessed that Blizzard wouldn't drop it before Thanksgiving, and just hours later they proved us wrong, and released it before the holiday. So here you go: with everything we've seen on the forums lately, including the CMs a little giddy with excitement, and all of the news that dropped last week, we're going to officially predict that patch 2.4 will drop on the PTRs this coming Tuesday, and that it will hit the live realms sometime in early March (probably before Noblegarden, which starts on March 23rd).
There. Now, Blizzard has plenty of chances to prove us wrong by releasing the PTR sometime this week, and getting the patch out to live realms before March 1st. That's our favor to you-- if Blizzard follows their past pattern, they'll make us completely wrong again, and get you on the PTR and in the patch even sooner than we thought.

Hah, I see what you're doing there. Maybe your nudge will work. In any case, I'm loving all the subtle drops and hints the CM's have been leaving behind.

Or maybe they'll prove you wrong by not dropping it until June. Thanks a lot! :)

I've been treating it like Shrodinger's Cat. Now due to rampant murphy-isms you've doomed us all!

Considering PTRs are traditionally dropped on Thursdays or Fridays, there is a pretty good chance you'll get your wish. That is, of course, unless they drop it next Friday :)

And while they are fixing Paladin gear, why not remove the Int and MP5 from Enhance Gear!

Yes! It's disheartening to get the T4 helm token just to recognize that my Glad Helm was better. With many sets stamina from Glad was sacrificed for better PvE stats...
But intellect is POINTLESS! Water Shield + Mana Spring + Shamanistic Rage = all the mana we'll ever need.

While they are fixing pala gear, and (hopefully) Enhancement Shaman, cut out Spirit from Mage sets and scale Mage Armor and Arcane Meditation with Intellect like it should always been. At least non-Arcane mages will not have item budget wasted.

I don't really mind not knowing when patch 2.4 will be released, not knowing what's IN it is driving me crazy.

is there somewhere that all the different stuff that's been dropped lately about the patch can be found? Like one spot where all the blue posters comments are?

Both mmo-champion and worldofraids.com have been keeping up on it pretty well.

There's also the Warcraft Weekly sticky in the general forums with links to all the posts that the blues sprung on us last week.

They were planning to release it to beat the release of Age of Conan in late March to do whatever they could to conflict with that release. So I'd say early March is a good guess on when it will go live.

The first PTR build of 2.4 will likely happen next week.
However, with all their class balancing issues they want to try out, I can't imagine it will take less than a month to do. March 1st earliest, most like middle or end of March.
That doesn't even include debugging Sunwell, a new 5-man, and all the dailies.
