Patch 2.4: Hyjal and Black Temple attunements removed
Blizzard announced the following important four lines in their 2.4 Patch Notes:- Players will no longer require an attunement quest to enter Hyjal.
- Players will no longer require an attunement quest to enter the Black Temple.
- Players who have completed the attunement quests for Black Temple and Hyjal will be granted the title of "Hand of A'dal".
- You may now fight Prince Kael'thas and Lady Vashj without first killing all the other bosses in their respective dungeons.
While the removal of the attunement is obviously a way to get more people to see their new raid zone, the Sunwell Plateau, all is not golden. Many, many, many raiding guilds and players who have already made the brutal trek through Vashj and Kael will be quite upset. On the other hand players who are not yet able to, but perhaps ready for, the first few bosses of MH and BT, will undoubtedly rejoice.
What are your opinions of this change? How do you think it will affect the raiding landscape?

Atm we've started downing the first few bosses in MH/BT, but still lack attuned more healers. It's hard to recruit cause our own officers/members are so tired of SSC/TK that they really don't want to clear all of it over and over anymore.
However, the change that it's possible to down Vashj and Kael without clearing all the other bosses is a nice addition. Donno if it will work with a teleport to the end boss or something.
Tbh I think this is a perfect solution, as it helps guilds attune faster to be able to move on, without having to waste too many nights in SSC/TK.
That everyone is able to move into MH/BT without attunement is fine with me. People won't be able to clear everything straight away anyhow. My only concern is that some guilds will rush in before being rdy themselves, which could lead to a lot of frustration.
But I think it's fine that more are able to see the instances now that they're soon obsolete with the new contents.
And remember - you still need to kill Kael/Vashj to get the nice attunement/rep ring. :-)

You're abosolutely right. It's so silly when people jump on Blizzard for everything. Heck, there were mages complaining about getting Ice Block for God's sake.
I'm guilty of it too. I don't envy them, trying to make ten million geeks happy all the time.

Some people certainly are caught up in their videogames now, aren't they. It's just like anything else, when the next big difficult thing comes out, the stuff that *was* tops gets moved to a lower tier. The people that worked so hard for their attunements were rewarded by being able to experience the content when it was cutting edge. Now that it's old business and you've beaten it, you're angry that more people can see it? People that have (and I quote here ) "no right" to see this content? Wow. Get over yourself. Video. Game.

My guild is currently just about to start farming Kara. We have not even begun to see BT and Hyjal. I would like to experience those locations but cutting out the attunement means you lose alot of the experience of earning the ability to get there. No one ever wants to have to earn things anymore, they just want it given to them.
The same with attunement to Kara. I think you are losing alot of the experience of Kara and working with your guild, by removing such restrictions.
I can understand wanting to get more people access to content, but you still need to earn the higher level stuff.

Well, how about this? Nerf Kael and Vashj to make them less demanding. Everyone still has to follow the storyline and more people get to see Hyjal/BT. Why the radical change to no attunements? This seems like a blatant move based on nothing more than customer satisfaction to me (like so many recent moves made by Blizzard).
On a separate note: yes it is just a game and yes we all play our $15 a month but I am a little confused how these points get people to "we should all be able to do anything any other player is able to do regardless of skill and/or time put into the game." Don't we all play this game for the challenge? If so, won't players of varying levels of skill and time commitment want varying levels of challenge? These arguments sound a lot to me like, look I bought a hockey stick when do I get to play in the NHL? In the real world you simply get your ass handed to you. Here in the Blizzard world of subscription fees you get catered to because, as in real life, mediocrity is the vast majority.
In fact, I'll come right out and say it: every time I hear accusations of elitism I see nothing more than pure jealousy and the smirking chuckle of the player who now gets to do what others have worked for without having to work for it. This is the player that spends all day long in trade channel, plays his 10 arena games a week, afks in battlegrounds and generally would like to diminish any work done by anyone else as foolish and pointless.
I realize there are skilled players who do not have time to dedicate to the more challenging aspects of the game and I feel for them. I wish I had time to do all of the things I would like to do. However, I do not believe for a second the cries of "I just want to see BT!" Please. You are telling me you will walk into BT, have a look around, maybe kill a boss or two and then sigh as you settle back and enjoy the rest of your online life? L O L
There are things in the game that were put there to challenge the small percentage of players that are able, for whatever reason, to rise to the challenge. If you could not get there without help from Blizz, for whatever reason, then, simply put, too bad. Add it to the list of disappointments and get on with your life. In your own words, it's just a video game.
Allow me to sum up my argument: you couldn't open the door, someone had to open it for you, you found another door you couldn't open right behind it, now you will sit there and whine until someone opens that door for you as well.

what if like you're working on the quest chain?
does this mean that the quest will disappear and you won't be able to even get the title?

Can anyone make a progression list from kara to sunwell?
Like kara,gruul,za,vr,lurker,maggy....

Seriously, everyone who is really that pissed about this. A:has no life. and B:needs to seriously go outside for a bit.
I really dont care though. attunement is awesome imo. and if people dont want to put in the time and effort to do it, they will have to live without the "top notch" spots in the game.
so blizz is going to remove an attunement? so who gives a crap, it is still going to be just as tough. and the people on top will, I promise you, move on to bigger and better things. where they will stay on top, like always/ and the people on bottom will continue to do pug Kara runs trying to pass time before real life must be addressed. lets face it, attunement or not, the best remain the best, and the rest.... well you get the point.
as for me, screw all of it, I play this game with my friends and we dont need the rest of the world of warcraft.
