Sunwell Isle map and PTR news
Thanks to Michael for alerting us to a post over at the WoW LiveJournal. He has managed to piece together a map of Sunwell Isle and the new Azeroth world map from the beta files currently available for patch 2.4. Of course, this is just beta information and may change at any time.As far as the PTR goes, you can now download the patch files. However, when you try to copy a character you get the error message "You have no characters on Anvilmar," or what ever server you live on. This is because while the patch files are available, the server is not up yet.
Stay tuned to WoW Insider all this weekend for the latest patch news!
See the new maps after the break.

Why does the dead scar start there and run all the way to deadholme?
is it like the Scourge walked the bottom of the ocean when they invaded? I mean that isle is quite far in sea, looks like the distance from Southshore to Dalaran

Pirates of the Caribbean style !

I think it's supposed to be part of the Blood Elf land. Look how it fits like a puzzle piece to the top of the main continent. When the scourge invaded the Blood Elves, they went straight through to the Sunwell. Anything is possible in WoW, so the demons probably just moved that whole piece of land out into ocean.

the scar START at deathholm and stop herre...death holm is the base you do in wc3(scourge campaine) to destroy quel'thalas
PS: my english is not the best...i need to l2t and i no nothing abour gramar

And why is the FO in Forbidding sea strangely placed compared to the others on the Sunwell map?
Anyway it looks cool and I can't wait to see the place :D

Reason the pic looks a little off is that I hadn't slept when I was piecing it together. My attention to detail was more focused on the map itself. Putting those maps together by hand is tricky. :)

Greengill Coast? Oh please don't tell me Sunwell Isle is going to be infested with Murlocs like every other goddam place on Azeroth.
bloodlight Feb 9th 2008 6:12PM
Of it will be, Don't you know Murlocs are actually to dominant race on the planet. and all the others are just allowed to live there for their amusment.
Arabelli Feb 9th 2008 4:44PM
I'd almost be disappointed if it wasn't...

@2
Actually that is a quite logical reply to elmo's question, Given the size of the scourge and the speed of advance I doubt Arthas had the time or the desire to build a massive invasion fleet. The scourge are mindless zombies who don't need to breathe, though there is some worry about their rotting bodies disintegrating under water, OFC I suppose a spell could take care of that. Besides I bet the water wasn't all that deep, It seems to me given the short distance that the Sunwell isle is located on the same continental shelf as Quel'thalas

I'm sorry, but am I the ONLY one that notices the Southern side of Sunwell Isle looks oddly like something I think we've all seen in High School health class?
GG Blizz for the cervix!
Rene Feb 9th 2008 5:41PM
Yes, this definitely looks like a vagina. This is the first thing that came into my mind when I saw it.
Havitech Feb 9th 2008 7:19PM
Not to mention the center is labeled "The Dead Scar." Haha.
Sean Feb 9th 2008 5:15PM
Does this mean no flight on Sunwell Isle? /sigh
Aichon Feb 9th 2008 6:34PM
Probably not, since we can't fly in the Blood Elf or Draenei starting areas either. I doubt it will matter much though, since it looks to be a small zone, and it'll probably be pretty easy terrain to navigate.
Elmo Feb 10th 2008 10:54AM
actually since Zul'aman you can fly from EPL to the Ghostlands.
however you still can't fly from Auberdine to the Exodar
Retro Feb 9th 2008 7:10PM
Hmm, so Sunwell Island looks like a Vagina, and is inhabited by Blood Elves? The menstruation jokes practically write themselves!
Tolento Feb 11th 2008 10:51AM
What are those three arrow-shaped things to the north out in the water?
Kevarus Feb 11th 2008 3:02PM
Those are so called "Ships"... You know, so the Shattered Sun Offensive can start their offensive and get there.
Microdot Feb 13th 2008 2:52PM
The flight-point will be located near the "labia", the blood elves will randomly attack ghostlands every 28days for no apparent reason and every friday the community gets the afternoon off to go shoe shopping.....
