Sunwell Plateau's magical menagerie
We have some more info straight from World of Raids regarding patch 2.4. This time, we're digging into the spell tables. As a warning, some of these might be spoilers for the Sunwell Plateau raid zone, so read at your own risk. Also, when you come across any funky numbers and symbols in these, keep in mind that you don't often get to see the values for these things until you run into them in-game. You'll get the gist of what they do from their descriptions, though.First, we have a duo of spells referencing Anveena:
- Sacrifice of Anveena - Anveena sacrifices herself, causing Kil'jaeden to take $s1% increased Holy damage.
- Anveena's Prison - A field of Arcane power traps Anveena.
Next up we have a few that point to the oh-so-pretty Kalecgos:
- Power of the Blue Flight - Empowers a humanoid with the essence of the Blue Flight.
- Vengeance of the Blue Flight - The power of the Blue Flight courses through you.
- Shield of the Blue - Extends a powerful shield around the caster that reduces all damage taken by friendly targets within $a1 yards by $s1%, but drains $s2% of the caster's health per second. Lasts $d.
We have a potential new weapon enchantment also: Deathfrost. The description for this enchant is, "Permanently enchant a weapon so your damaging spells and melee hits occasionally inflict an additional 150 Frost damage and reduce the target's melee, ranged, and casting speed by 15% for 4 sec." Interesting for sure, but it doesn't seem like it has much real viability unless the proc rate is very high, and bosses will most likely be immune to this effect. Something to keep an eye on!
A new form of weapon oil with a stacking buff is also on the horizon, and there is mention of a Holyform. Don't get too excited, my fellow priests. There's a good chance this is a spell connected to a boss somewhere, and not necessarily for us. My personal favorite theory is Deathfrost and Holyform are for Wrath of the Lich King and were plugged into the game files early. We'll just have to see!

It disgusts me that you people just datamine the hell out of everything before it actually goes live for people to experience.
Jay Feb 9th 2008 11:46PM
You don't have to read the details. Nobody's forcing you, ignore it.

WoW Insider didn't datamine, they just have a responsibility to report the news from the people who did.

And he looks awesome :)

Why couldn't they have used this instead of those buffoon looking humans we have now? (yes I know he's half-elf, but still)

I'm hoping for a polygon update for pre-BC races in Wrath. I'd like for my rogue to stop looking like a gorilla.
Aerei Feb 10th 2008 4:36AM
Actually, he's a dragon in human form, not a half-elf at all.
lucifer.cross Feb 10th 2008 9:00AM
/agree!
The 'old' race faces are in sore need of an update.

No real viability on a new Icy enchant? Are you nuts? Stop thinking just in terms of raiding, this is going to be THE new PvP enchant.
Alex Ziebart Feb 9th 2008 9:07PM
That is certainly possible, but like I said, it might come down to proc rate. 4 seconds is somewhat brief, when compared to the large damage buff the other weapon enchants can give you. Then again, PvP is pretty fast paced so who knows!
If I'm wrong, you have my permission to stone me in the middle of Orgrimmar.

unless it's on the 45s internal cooldown, it's a pretty substantial pure-damage enchant. if you had a couple of those on a mace rogue, he would be the master of all trash mobs, really.

Man this sucks, I really liked the manga series and was hoping that these characters wouldn't get killed off.
RogueJedi86 Feb 10th 2008 8:23AM
But on the plus side, Blizzard is bringing in more characters from the books. But I guess they kinda have to, since they've already killed most of the major characters introduced in the games.

Picture this : When Kalecgos kills someone, he says :
"Thank you, XXX, your death only adds to my pretty-ness"
Suzaku Feb 11th 2008 5:53PM
Kalec's model is actually not even that different from the normal human one. His face texture and eyebrows are just about 1000x better in terms of quality. Which proves just how easily they could fix the appearance of the human male charactr models so they don't all look like pug-nosed wrestlers with cleft palates.
potatowedge Feb 10th 2008 9:55AM
Damn that Kalecgos is hot.
