The Lunar Festival's greatest prize: Rep!
If you're a human after a saber, troll after a kodo, or any other combination like that, don't let this opportunity pass you by!
As most of you know, during the Lunar Festival there are 50 Elders scattered across Azeroth that hand out Coins of Ancestry which you can turn in for prizes in Moonglade. There is another prize, however: Reputation! For every elder you speak to, you earn 75 reputation toward your entire faction. Yes, all five races.
If you put the time in to talk to every single elder, some of which might be a pain to reach, you'll net just shy of 4,000 reputation. 3,750 to be exact. For humans, this will come out to about 4,125 rep, give or take a bit. Nerf Diplomacy!
This won't drastically lessen a rep grind, especially after the reputation gain changes they put in awhile back, but its certainly more interesting than tearing apart low level quests or farming endless amounts of Runecloth.

I've been doing this on my Human Rogue on Ghostlands. Currently have every coin but the one in Thunder Bluff and Orgrimmar.
Everyone in my guild thinks I'm crazy for doing it, but I told them the rep was a good chunk of change, so to speak.
And really, is there any other reason to do something like this other than to be able to say "I did it?"
There may be no fancy prize at the end, but it's been fun so far.

As an update... Thunder Bluff and Orgrimmar coins obtained. I am 50/50 for the Lunar Festival. :D

No prize, except, you know, for the actual prizes. :P

I like it, it's a fun trip (particularly running through the other faction's cities) and it may even take you to places you've never been before :)

It actually isn't too hard if you're a stealthing class (rogue/druid) but if you're not I would have to say that you probably won't be able to get all 50 coins, seeing as a few are in other faction's cities/towns.
As my druid, I did it on friday night and finally got exalted with both Thunder Bluff and Orgrimmar.

It's not that bad - I've done it on my lock now and gotten all 50 and my blueberry shaman (lvl 65) is getting close to done, but don't have the key to Strat, so I'm collecting some thorium and dense stone to make a powerful seaforium charge to get in the back door. Can't possibly do it thru the front!

I was looking to do this on my Druid, but I've already go Exalted with Orgrimmar and I can't ride the other races' mounts, so it's not quite as worth my time as it is for other races.

I play on an RPPVP server and went to the Lunar festival with my undead caster. Nothing better than seeking happy little lowlevels walking around flagged, thinking they were safe with all those guards and dropping fireballs on them from the lake!

Saw this guide, found a walkthrough on WoWwiki, did 34 coins, just enough to land me the last 2000 or so rep i needed with gnomeregan exiles and Stormwind. I am now exalted with every faction i alliance. Ahh...the sweet relief of the completist explorer. I wish i could get a title for getting all 50 coins: or

Got all 50 on my BE paladin.
A /plead macro helped a lot in SW and IF.

Like I said in a previous post about the lunar festival, got all coins with my lvl 67 priest. Only died in Ogrimmar when some lvl 70 hordies helped out the guards. Without their help I could've just run in and out without harm. That death was pretty ok though because I still needed the coin close to the graveyard. Spirit healer rez, get coin and on my way to Thunderbluff. Also hard to get the coin, but once I had it, jumped down and used levitate. Funny when one of the guards still wanted to chase me and seeing him fall down the cliff :-)

I did this in a single 7 hour burst a couple of days ago, on my level 63 human Paladin. With the help of my 'second bubble' (Arena Grandmaster trinket), I was able to solo every single coin besides the Stratholme one (I didn't have a key to the side door, and had to ask for help). The guide on WoWWiki was tremendously helpful, and I was lucky enough to not meet a single challenger when infiltrating Org and Thunder Bluff (Although there was a 48 Tauren Warrior who watched and cheered as I weaved my way into the Valley of Wisdom).
Two things I learned from my adventure:
1. You can use the lunar light teleport to go from an enemy faction's city to Moonglade, but not the other way around.
2. Even Horde cities receive Alliance trade chat (if you are Alliance yourself). I took the opportunity to shout in trade and baffle some low-level players when I told them to /who my name.
