Brutallus goes ballistic on the PTR
Warlocks who have always been a bit frustrated when they go into Shadow Labyrinth and see all those huge, delicious demons who refuse to be enslaved will get a kick out of this: It seems that a warlock on the PTR managed to enslave one of the biggest, baddest demons we've yet seen in the World of Warcraft: Brutallus, the pit lord boss in the Sunwell Plateau. Not only that, he then managed to get him out of the instance and set him loose on the docks, where he proceeded to smash up all the level 1 sightseers and the level 70 Adventurers alike and generally make a huge mess of things. This is a bug that is almost sure to be fixed before the patch goes live, of course, and with good reason. It'd be a bit of a drag if life for the Shattered Sun Offensive was a constant stream of fighting off massively powerful pit lords unleashed by a stream of bored warlocks. But still, for one brief, shining moment, all you Demonologists can bask in the glow of true power, and know that you once caused one of the mightiest of the Burning Legion to bend to your whim. Yeah, that's right, it's good to be the Warlock. And your parents said studying the dark arts would never get you anywhere.
Thanks for the tip and the screen shots, Pamine!

AHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA...(breath) Owned
Gotta be best exploit off endgame raid boss ever, wish I could have been there.

Sadly, its impossible to bring him to capitals... now THAT would be fun! Instead of killing 1 gold-seller at a time, let's kill a stack of them! XD
Jasperwind Feb 12th 2008 11:22AM
Reminds me of when someone kited Kazzak into Storm Wind. hehe Good times, good times.... =D

I suppose enslaving Brutallus would make us 'locks slighty OP...but it's still awesome.
Ahoni Feb 14th 2008 9:03AM
Only if we could get him into a BG or Arena, lol
Balasan Feb 12th 2008 11:40AM
Best Bug Ever. This is the time when warlocks feel true power.
Why can't you bring it to capital cities? Enslave then just HS back to org/IF?

If you hearth with an enslaved demon they disappear, so you actually have to kite or move a demon to where you want to let it go.
That is an awesome exploit, I wish I could have seen that.
Meira Feb 12th 2008 11:58AM
Nope, you can't bring him to capitals that way: zoning issues. You would HS, but you'll loose the enslaved demon on the process. Once a friend of mine enslaved a wrathguard and wanted to release it in SW via a portal of mine... result: the lock came to SW, the demon just disapeared.

My favorite screenshot is the one that says "Your feedback has been submitted, thank you for helping us improve World of Warcraft!", as Brutallus is smashing everyone and everything to bits outside. :|

Love it.

Now if this would only make it past the patch . . . :')
Ruhei Feb 12th 2008 11:58AM
There is actually a non instanced Brutallus you can get to by wall jumping, so he wasn't actually taken out of The Sunwell.
On a different note that Brutallus can never die either (will stay at 1%).
Eleazar Feb 12th 2008 2:22PM
Was about to chime in on that, they didn't bring him out of the instance ;^)
Girl Meets WoW Feb 12th 2008 11:58AM
Heheh. I was there and getting killed by him last night (along with gangs of roving horde). It was entertaining, up to a point.
Suzaku Feb 12th 2008 12:09PM
He's not actually from the raid, if you travel north through the Dead Scar, you eventually reach an invisible wall. Beyond it, you can see two Pit Commanders, a bunch of undead, and Brutallus. Brutallus quarrels with the blue dragon Marigosa, flying overhead and taunting him. With some wall jumping, Warlocks are able to get past the invisible wall, enslave, and wall jump out.
Daniel Whitcomb Feb 12th 2008 12:12PM
Ah, ok, thanks for the explanation on that, Suzaku. That's cool that Blizzard is providing that extra scenery, but I must say that I'm rather surprised they didn't just make him immune to things, or even just plain untargettable. I guess they didn't think anyone would get close enough to do anything to him!

Truly this is the way Warlocks were meant to be used! Awesome work to whoever pulled it off!

In the dev room, all eyes turn to the chap behind the ghost wolves being tameable, and in unison, they all yell "WHAT THE HELL MAN!? SERIOUSLY! WHAT . THE . HELL!?"
Candina@WH Feb 12th 2008 1:54PM
LOL, one of the best comments.
Think about it for a moment. Hunters being able to tame shamen in ghostwolf form in PVP.
One warlock enslaving another warlocks minion!
A hunter taming a dire bear... Think of the PVP options!
