Nethaera announces progressive testing, and an update on shared test servers
Everyone's favorite candle has some news for us about the PTR. She reveals that the development team is changing the way they test by adding content progressively to this patch, and changing the patch notes to match. As the testing goes on, they may add or remove test notes or various functions they wish to test. At this least, this could make monitoring the PTR process exciting as we try to figure out what Blizzard may add and take away. In addition, although Blizzard has said that they don't plan any major classes changes, this might mean that we can still hope for the tweaking of some abilities. Nethaera's already made it known that she's watching a few well constructed shaman threads about the changes to the class or lack thereof, at least.
In other news, Bornakk has updated his post on International PTRs with the news that Blizzard now plans to make the servers accessible over multiple regions for 2.4.0 only. So unfortunately, if you were planning any raiding or PvP tourneys to see which region reigns supreme, all bets may be off.
With this new progressive testing announcement, we'll be sure to keep an eye on the notes for you and tell you as soon as we see any changes, so keep us in mind here at WoW Insider for your patch news needs.

Just because the PTR grouping is planned this way only for 2.4 does not mean they will not go with it at all. What could be hinted here is a complete change in how we all test the game. Maybe after 2.4 this method will become redundant?
Thinking about the kind of server architecture that would be required to develop something like wow gives me a headache. My guess is that Bliz will want to eventually streamline how servers work so that players from multiple realms can interact directly.
Or perhaps we could be seeing more of a seamless server architecture (like we continually have since the beginning).
I would like to see a portal where you can enter into the PTR from a city. The Goblins could be involved, tinkering how the world works to suit their own ends (that last part was for the carebears).

Oh God, I really hope those "leaked" patch notes seen on EJ.com aren't real. Why did I choose to roll a shadowpriest just as Blizzard decided to destroy their raid utility?

Why don't you post these "leaked" patch notes?

Dear Blizzard fix the disc priest tree. Thanks

My only gripe with the PTRs is the lag spikes I get...I forsee that to be a big issue when you go to Quel'Danas. Sooo many freaking people in a little space actually crashed my client. And when I got the error comment page, I typed "buncha people with their "minions" ran by me and I got WTFPWNd by lag."
