Love is in the Air (in RL and ingame)

If you want a quick rundown of how to play through Blizzard's Valentine's Day quests, you can check out our Sex in the Undercity feature from last year, or hit up WoWWiki's great guide to the holiday. Today's the big day-- are you getting something nice for your sweetie, ingame or in RL? Call me a grump (and put me in the same column as J. Geils), but even I can see that love is in the air. Have a happy Valentine's Day!
Love is in the Air and on WoW Insider. Check out our continuing coverage of the event and our guide to earning the achievement. And you better hurry; the holiday only lasts five days!Filed under: Events, Fan stuff, WoW Insider Business, Humor

Two methods for farming Gifts/Pledges of Adoration...
Method A
1. Make as many alts as possible (I've got 2 accounts, so I made 8 alts, plus used my bank and main).
2. Send all alts to the nearest cap city.
3. Get a gift at the same time on every toon, as often as possible.
4. Repeat.
Method B
1. Get a mage friend, or your own mage (if you have 2 accounts; and use the other for alts).
2. Have them park in the starting area of one of your races.
3. Funnel alts through portals, get gifts, and then delete them (after sending them to your main if they contain something good).
4. Repeat.
I've been using Method A, and I've done probably over 200 turn ins by now. Out of the three permanent holiday items (Lovely Black Dress, Truesilver Shafted Arrow, Romantic Picnic Set) I've gotten...
Romantic Picnic Set - way too many to keep track of. I think about 30+. Kept one on my main and bank, sold about 10, keeping the rest until about a month after the holiday has finished (the duration listed on the boxes is /played time, not real time).
Lovely Black Dress - four.
Truesilver Shafted Arrow - three.
So unless you're prepared to pay for the dress or arrow, I'd start farming. =)

the duration on the boxes is /played time and not real time? crap! time to send those off my main and back to an alt for safekeeping!

I'm fairly certain it is. I *know* I've had some of them on my bank for about 36 hours now, yet still have "Duration: 7 days" on the actual item.

The gifts/pledges of adoration that you get from city NPC's.

I was able to purchase a DishNet DVR. She'll be so happy now that she can record her 8pm shows (like American Idol) while she works :-)
For ingame: I'm not much of a fan for this holiday. The rewards are not that great. They should have had an event where you can fight cupid or that goblin guy. Then he could drop loot like the Headless Horseman. Cupid's Bow would be a nice drop and maybe a Band Of Love as a ring.

Bah, Horseman never should've dropped epics in the first place. The holidays are supposed to be fun, not loot whore grind/whine fests.

It's okay Mike, I'll be your valentine.

Did anyone else experience a server crash last night that wiped out the records for the various faction leaders? Last I checked on Earthen Ring Magni was winning, then the server crashed, and everyone was back to zero.

next to the heroes in the major cities, kwee. q peddlefeet is there. if you type /kiss to him, you get smitten. Which adds 200 hp for 1 hour. If you log out and log back it, you can do it again for 400 hp. It only stacks 2 times however. Good for low lvls.
