My log off spot
Many of us that have played the game every day over the years have developed some habits of sort. One of the habits that I've found myself doing night after night is logging off in the same spot. For me, this spot is at the staff vendor in the Aldor section of Shattrath. I find myself logging off here almost every night since I hearth back to Shat when I'm done raiding, and then go and repair immediately (less I get yelled at for not being fully repaired).I can imagine that there are some better spots than others to log off at. In particular the PvP servers I'm sure pose certain pragmatic limitations on where you can disembark from the game. In the PvE world, I could (if I wanted to) log off anywhere in the wild. Save for the wandering aggressive mob, I would be just fine. However, I don't think this would be too good in a PvP environment.
Prior to BC being released, I found myself stationed in the tavern near the AH in Ironforge. How I miss my warm little corner of the world. Of course while leveling I always try to log off in an Inn to get that sweet rested bonus. The Inn at Honor Hold was home to all my toons for a long, long time after the release of Burning Crusade. And who hasn't spent their newbie time at the inn at Goldshire?
Where do you find yourself logging off at night? Is any place particularly good or bad?

I dont have a particular spot, basically if Im in the middle of questing I jump on my flying, get out of aggro range of mobs and log. I have a RL friend who plays a NE Druid and he logs off in the Aldor Tier Inn while in cat form and he /sleeps on a bed in the corner, so whenever I use his druid I always do it out of respect for his habits I guess =\

Undercity, anywhere in it.
I just love that city. Traveling within the city is fast, it's not overly crowded, the mailbox and bank are close together, there is a lot of auctioneer and I have a reagent vendor just next to where I teleport.
Since I'm a mage, it's easy for me to just hit UC whenever I want. It's by far my favorite place of business.

I always log in the cart beside the auction house in IF. It's cozy. :D

Two places: Shattrath Inn or straight up (wherever that is).
If I'm in hostile territory and in the middle of some activity (e.g. at Skettis, completing dailies) and something comes up, I'll just go Flight Form and go straight up. I'm on a PvP server, and while it's true that there are rarely times that there's someone there waiting to get you while you're logging in, I logged on at Cenarion Hold in Silithus to a dead body enough times back in the day that I just don't risk it any more. Straight up so that they'd have to kill themselves if they want to take a shot at me.
Otherwise, I just hearth back, and I have my hearth set to Shattrath for all the characters that I actively play (including the lowbies).

While leveling I would always /sleep in the nearest in. Guess I have a little RP in me.
Since 70 and BC I always wind up in TB standing on the little hill outside the bank ... that is until the guild bank totem showed up. I literally ran into it the first day. Now I just log standing next to it.

I log out in Stormwind nearly every time, about halfway between the bank and the auction hall. There's a certain spot right next the giant fountain that I stand on. I even stand facing the same direction (towards the auction hall) each time.
It has become some kind of ritual.

Ironforge, sitting in the brazier next to the mailbox outside of the bank.
Well its cold and a dwarf's gotta stay warm SOMEHOW!

Normally i just HS to the scryer inn and walk outside a bit and log off, sometimes the bank. While leveling I allways go to an inn, the rested is just helpfull while doing it.

Under the water in nagrand or near to a mail box in IF
Tenchan Feb 17th 2008 6:19AM
I generally try to log off on a bed/carpet/cosy looking corner after going /sleep.
Elmo Feb 17th 2008 6:43AM
I used to go into an inn and /sleep on a bed.
nowadays my poor char has to sleep high in the air on his bird.

Before TBC I always used to log off under the stairs leading up to the weapon shop next to the bank in IF. My bank chars still do so. In a similar vein I always go to the same auctioneer and bank teller in each city.

I hate to be boring but I most often log my toons in IF, somewhere between Bank and AH. Unless im leveling an alt in which I'll sleep at the nearest Inn.

This is great stuff to read, and very interesting to see what other people do :)
During my early levelling, i used to /sleep on a bed in the nearest inn every time i logged off.
At 60 (pre tbc) i used to sit on my mount outside the ammo shop in IF, facing towards the forge.
At 70 i tend to log off near the aldor bank, sort of let it slip recently, i should make the effort again.
Little things like this are great, and add to the connection with your character. Nice post!

Mine is either Stormwind's Inn (I do my AH fun in SW), or Area 52, where my HS is (yes I am a mage), it is close to a great number of stuff: TK, Gruul, Ogri'la, the Death's Door for farming Marks and gain cash, the Kirin Tor village for Primal Mana farming, the Netherstom Elementals for other Primals, the Manaforge for Signets and extra cash... and arena vendors ^^
Greg Feb 17th 2008 10:36AM
Goldshire Inn....yes at 70
Skarlette Feb 17th 2008 2:58PM
I never log from Shat if I can avoid it. The lag is just insane and it adds extra delay and frustration to start out.
My main doesn't really have a particular spot to log anymore. In my lowbie days I'd usually log sitting at a chair in the IF inn, or in that cart next to the IF bank that someone above me mentioned.
On my Horde characters I usually go in the inn, kill Gamon if he's around, then hop up on the reddish urn that's just to the right of the door. Sometimes I sit, sometimes I /dance. But my Hordies almost always log from that urn. Why? I have no idea. Just got to be a habit.
My RP characters often /sleep in an inn.

{(less I get yelled at for not being fully repaired).}
I think you mean "lest," not "less."
