New class changes found in the PTR notes [Updated]
Tipster Pzychotix has uncovered some new class changes in the latest round of patch notes, and some of them are doozies: For Druids, the Lifebloom healing coefficient has been reduced. It'll be interesting to see how much. Rolling Lifeblooms have been the healing method of choice for most discerning trees, but if the nerf is severe enough, perhaps we'll see some return to Regrowth and Healing Touch. In other changes, Feral Druids are heading further and further to side of agility, with Nurturing Instinct now increasing your healing spells by up to 100% of your agility, and increasing your healing received by 20% of your attack power while in Cat Form. This seems like it may make Cat Druids at least a bit less squishy in PvP, if they're paired with a healer or can find a spare second to duck out of the fray and heal themselves.
Lots of additional changes after the break!
For mages, Blink, Slow, and Spellsteal are now lower in mana cost.
Chastise, the spell that replaced Fear Ward for Dwarves and Draenei, has been changed. Now instead of a 2 second disorient, it will provide a 2 second root. In some ways, it is a bit of a nerf since now those affected can still keep attacking, but it will also allow the priest to keep attacking and shouldn't, in theory, break immediately on a DoT tick or stray AE damage like Chastise did.
Tremor Totem will pulse every 3 seconds now, down from 4, for Shamans. We'll see how much difference a second makes, but it should at least give a slightly lower chance that a feared ally will run out of range of the totem before it pulses. However, Elemental Shamans will have a harder time chaining Nature's Swiftness and Elemental Mastery for massive damage, as the two now share a 10 second cooldown.
The Rogue Improved Backstab talent is now renamed Puncturing Wounds, and will increase critical strike chance with Mutilate by 15% at the highest rank as well as increasing Backstab critical strike chance by 30%.
In non-class news, you'll now not have to deal with a cooldown in transmuting Arcanite.
The changes haven't actually made it to the Test Server themselves at last check, but since the patch notes are updated, we can probably expect them to go in soon. We'll be interested to see what the classes themselves think of these, and we'll be on the lookout for more progressive changes as testing continues. Stay tuned!
Update: One more change (it's been rumored in the past but is now official!) is that Paladin Turn Undead will be renamed Turn Evil and work against Demons. Felhounds may not make quite the meal of Holy Paladins that they did before.

You forgot to add that turn undead for paladins now works on demons
Daniel Whitcomb Feb 20th 2008 12:15AM
Hm, Are you sure that wasn't in there before, Metrokard? Maybe it wasn't and they just added it now. I think I recall it being promised before, so I assumed it was already in there.
metrokard Feb 20th 2008 12:27AM
It was in the leaked patch notes that was posted a a week or so before the ptr was released...Guess they werent fake after all.
ceckjustin Feb 20th 2008 12:44AM
Metokard, look at these leaked notes. They have many similarities, and obviously this PTR is being released in phases. Many more changes from these notes might actually come eventually. http://www.mmo-champion.com/index.php?topic=4109.0

Yea i think someone said that those leaked notes were from a bliz guy's e-mail....and that they were going to release it later during the ptr process...I hope that isnt all they add for paladins though...would really like better scaling and seal of blood.

Hope to God those Warlock changes don't make it...
Lucas Feb 20th 2008 10:55AM
I hope to god they do.

Some of these changes are rather interesting, i am especially intrigued by that lifebloom nerf. I have many druid friends on both sides of the healing argument.

Also from the patch notes:
Empowered Rejuvenation: This talent now properly affects the final heal from Lifebloom.
Looks like a simple rebalancing rather than a nerf to me.
SaintStryfe Feb 20th 2008 12:18AM
ohhh... elemental nerf again! They're taking it on the chin this patch.
Big ups to the change to Tremor Totem. It being 25% faster is a big upgrade. I think it was rather broken, and this helps fix a big problem. I'm very pleased, as an Enhancement Shaman who uses it in fights like Nightbane in Kara.

The removal of the cooldown on Transmute Arcanite is interesting. I wonder if this will be a trend.
Shat Feb 20th 2008 12:26AM
I certainly hope so. It'll sure make things easier.
ceckjustin Feb 20th 2008 12:40AM
I agree Shat. Though, it kinda does make me sad, as my server pays 7g for an Arcanite transmute, and it's on a day to day basis, so this will certainly reduce both those.
Bob Feb 20th 2008 9:14AM
I've been making 15 gold for an arcanite bar on the AH (Thunderlord-A). Its my primary money maker on a 60 Warlock alt, slow but steady gold. I don't know about this.
Spiritofire Feb 20th 2008 12:40AM
omg yes blink and spell steal reduced ftw
Zarzuur Feb 20th 2008 7:13AM
I agree, Spellsteal was very expensive .. maybe now it could be more useful too, instead of being for specific encounters.
Rocky Feb 20th 2008 12:49AM
They.. nerfed... ele shaman, again. /facepalm
Do they know how long 10 seconds is in a PVP battle? For a class with no stuns or CC AND no pushback aside from our now nerfed 50% for our 4 point piece.
I hope this is just like the last patch were they decided to nerf our dps, but got their head out of their ass at the last second. Will have to see how an "instant"(talented) ghost wolf will be, to bad it's dispellable.
Should I just reroll mage? Or lock?
emodeathmachine Feb 20th 2008 12:53AM
I think they know exactly how long 10 seconds is.
The same length of time ProM is on CD for priests. Another class that has no stuns or CC, and also one that wears cloth instead of mail.
Rocky Feb 20th 2008 1:04AM
Psychic Scream
/blink
Jennifer Feb 20th 2008 1:00AM
Hmm... Priest don't have an AoE fear? PWS? Chastise?
Taking NS+EM away from shammies is like putting AP and POM on a 10 sec cooldown, taking away sheep/blink/frostnova, and putting mages in mail. Oh, and while we're at it, every mage spell except fire blast is now arcane -- so GG counterspell.
