Breakfast Topic: Grinding Tunes
Unless I am doing Arenas or for some other event that involves voice chat, I usually turn my WoW sounds off. I either watch episodes of my favorite science fiction shows or listen to music.I have compiled the following WoW-inspired, classic-rock soundtrack for grinding.
Ozzy Osbourne - The Wizard, for the Mages of the world.
Aerosmith - Dude Looks Like a Lady, with all due respect to elves of both factions.
Ted Nugent - Cat Scratch Fever, I guess I could have gone with Fred Bear- either work for Druids.
Queen - Fat Bottom Girls, because Tauren females make the rockin' world go 'round.
Blue Oyster Cult - Don't Fear the Reaper, in honor of Undeads.
Black Sabbath - Iron Man, perfect for Warriors and Paladins, but more for Warriors.
The Eagles - Witchy Woman, which seems to fit Warlocks.
Styx - Mr. Roboto, for everyone who's ever been stomped by the Fel Reavers in Hellfire Peninsula.
Led Zeppelin - Ramble On, OK it's about a different fantasy epic, but it's a great song.
What do you listen to while you play?
EDIT: Corrected the spelling of Ozzy, but I'm leaving it as an Ozzy song rather than Black Sabbath as the version I have is solo off the "Hot and Heavy" compilation disc. Thanks though!

I listen to audio books actually - at least when doing something boring like farming.

A good list! Although it's spelt "Ozzy" not "Ozzie".

Yeah, I guess the OP has no idea that Ozzy was the frontman FOR Black Sabbath.
It's BLACK SABBATH. Be accurate.

Witchy Woman? I'm never going to be able to play my warlock without laughing now as "Witchy Woman" pops into my head.

Everything in my playlist, but I usually listen to one group at a time.
I've been on a big kick of 'Angels and Airwaves' because it's a very mellow and trippy band to listen to while I grind up my new Pally.
I'll also throw in Nightwish and Kamelot to liven things up a bit as well as Metallica when I get in the mood =)

In addition to what poster two said, The Wizard was done by Black Sabbath, before Ozzy went solo. Therefore it's a Black Sabbath song, not Ozzy Osbourne. Don't misinform your readers.

Here's my best grinding songs:
"Orion" by Metallica
"F. U. B. B." by Wishbone Ash
"Friends of Hell" and "Witchfinder General" by...Witchfinder General #_#
"Cry of the Banshee" by Pagan Altar (actually I use this for long ground trips, and the opening charge of a BG)
"The Sorceror" by Pagan Altar (awesome mage tune)
"Holy Diver" by Dio
"Holding Out for a Hero" by Bonnie Tyler (this works great for when you're fighting multiple mobs)
And my ultimate grinding song: "It's a Long Way to the Top" by AC/DC.

Only thing I used to listen to was my girlfriend nagging me because I kept telling her how to play her hunter properly...

I'm completely in the same boat.
"You do not need to use concussive shot when your pet's tanking!"
"You're a ranged class! Why are you trying to melee AGAIN?"
"You pulled too much. Feign Death.... Or just die, that works too."
At least she's hot. LOL

actually, i use concussive shot when grinding all of the time. it boosts the damage of steady shot >.>

Depends what I picked up that week. Could be a new radio drama, or classic game soundtrack usually (Like FF6), and once in a while, I just turn on a movie and let that play while I kill.
Jamie Feb 20th 2008 8:30AM
Usually everything on my play list but how about
Been Caught Stealing - Janes Addiction for rogues
Hey Man Nice Shot - Filter for hunters
Scelerat Feb 20th 2008 8:33AM
Every time the Iron Gauntlets of the Maiden drop in Kara I have to go on an Iron Maiden spree...and I usually try and force whoever picks up the gloves to sing 'Run to the Hills' over Vent.
Mirina Feb 20th 2008 8:34AM
No hunter love? :(
I'm usually listening to whatever someone is playing when they drag the music bot into the raid channel. Too hard to hear music, vent, and the game through a headset (which just keeps reminding me that I need to get a USB plug for my headset so I can actually listen to music) =\
Egaheer Feb 20th 2008 8:38AM
Classic for boss fights :)
Drowning Pool - Bodies, http://youtube.com/watch?v=sO_QntXc-c4

I challenge anyone to come up with a better song to play before a boss than Child's Anthem by Toto. It's such a good intro.
see also: Don't Stop Believing by Journey.

I don't listen to anything but the game. That is unless I'm getting sleepy, then I often play Billy Squire, his "Don't Say No" album usually wakes me up. Although anything by ZZ Top works too.
Felwrathe Feb 20th 2008 8:39AM
The Who - The Seeker
My nomination for a Hunter song. :)
Felwrathe Feb 20th 2008 8:40AM
Oh, and for the grinding song -
Survivor - Eye of the Tiger
