We already highlighted some of the most important changes in the updated 2.4 PTR patch notes, but here is every difference in full, brought to you by the unblinking eye of diff. - Paladins
- Removed: "Holy Shield and Holy Shock: Casting lower ranks of these spells is now properly penalized like other healing and damage effects."

- Righteous Defense: This spell will now always be castable on friendly npcs.
- Seal of Blood: This ability will no longer cause spell pushback for the Paladin with this seal active.
- Turn Undead(Rank 3): This spell has been reworked and has been renamed to "Turn Evil". It will now work on Demons in addition to Undead. Turn Evil is subject to diminishing returns, and lasts 10 seconds in PvP.

- Demonic Sacrifice: Now works properly in sanctuary regions (such as Shattrath City and the Stair of Destiny).
- Nether Protection: The buff from this talent will no longer interrupt capturing PvP flags and bases.
- PvP

What was the freaking problem with Lifebloom?
Are we back to the good old days?

"Turn Undead(Rank 3): This spell has been reworked and has been renamed to "Turn Evil". It will now work on Demons in addition to Undead. Turn Evil is subject to diminishing returns, and lasts 10 seconds in PvP."
So does that mean I can now fear that Undead Stun Rogue, or does this just apply to Warlock Pets?

I don't really think there was a need for that nerf, but maybe thats just me. It's possible that it was only reduced by a small percent, which would make you lose maybe 200 healing total for a BT/Hyjal raider. Not that much, just a tweak.
Also, the Molten Armor change is interesting. It makes it more viable for PvP, its going to be the anti-nuker spell, since it will now induce a knockback on spells as well as reduced chance to crit. Ice Armor is sitll anti-melee just because of the slow.

Undead players are not considered "undead" type; they're humanoids instead.
Charlie Feb 20th 2008 9:41AM
@turkeyspit. Undeads as a race are classified as humanoids, so no. This should apply to warlock pets though, which is awsome.

Sweet, nerfing PVE for PVP arena's sake. Just awesome.
/sarcasm

Do you seriously believe that healy druids are worth brining endgame? Seriously?
Naw.
Because, that aura is just sooo much better than anything a paladin or a priest can bring.

Also from the patch notes:
Empowered Rejuvenation: This talent now properly affects the final heal from Lifebloom.
Looks like a simple rebalancing to me, not a nerf.

It is a nerf for pve, because the bloom is not important for pve play. It is (in total) a buff for pvp resto druids because the bloom is crucial for pvp play. The language of the bloom portion of empowered healing suggests that it is viewed as a fix, although I don't care too much about that sort of spin.
The total reduction to the lifebloom ticks appears to be around 9%. Given that a typical resto druid's raid healing is over 80% lifebloom, this is around a 7-8% reduction in overall healing for raiding druids.
That smarts.

WoW @ the power infusion change. I think in pvp it probobly be a buff because thats a 1.2 gcd now instead of 1.5, super rapid fire. But in PvE? I don't really know.
And the gost wolf change. Does this mean its instant if its talented? For my leveling shaman, thats awsome!

I just typed the same post about shamans and forgot to put in password.

i mean just getting screwed again by blizzard.. Once again proving that the most discriminated class is the priest.. unreal.. who gives a crap about the .3 seconds when the spell is 20% less powerful... so if over the 15 seconds i get say 1 extra cast!!! meanwhile they are all 20% lower!! i cant take it when they change major aspects about a character.. i am all for patches but there are base set things which should not be changed... this was one of them
Nasgoul Feb 20th 2008 10:32AM
oh and let me add 1 more thing... the time it takes to cast the power infusion and the global coodown after it takes all the time ur gunna gain over the next 15 seconds away!!! im just annoying myself now... just horrible... horrible
Heilig Feb 20th 2008 11:01AM
You clearly don't get it. There is no functional difference between 20% increased damage and 20% increased speed.
100 damage x.1.2 = 120% damage
100 casts x 1.2 = 120 casts
The math is exactly the same. This change makes this ability useful in PvP. If that silly rogue with the 1.5 GCD thinks he's going to interrupt your power infused casts, he'd better find a way to shorten his own GCD or you're still going to get the cast off. This is a way to be able to fit some nukes in between CC more easily, rather than have the infusion completely wasted by CC in PvP.
rafe.brox Feb 20th 2008 12:24PM
I agree; as someone who occasionally uses PI for a boost to damage/healing (and as an extra bit of mana regain for my Shadowfiend in conjunction with something like Xiri's Gift)... I don't want haste, thanks, unless it's _in addition to_ the damage/healing buff... this makes it even less useful, except, as noted, for PvP.
matt Feb 20th 2008 1:24PM
On PTR it's 1 sec if talented right now. Not sure if that's working as intended.
doyesac Feb 20th 2008 9:49AM
" * [AV] There is now a Join as Party option."
This is gonna make life much more interesting. Probably worse — we Horde in the Retaliation Battlegroup fail at AB, WSG and EotS because of premades, so easy-mode AV premades will prolly crush us.
But running Av as a guild will be lotsa lotsa fun!

"Demonic Knowledge: This buff will no longer remain on enslaved demons when Enslave Demon is removed. It will now increase your spell damage by an amount equal to 4/8/12%, down from 5/10/15%"
Umm why are Warlocks getting hit with the nerf bat again? Warlocks have only seen a shred of light as a dps class only to get nurfed back into summoning transporters and now our lowest dps tree is getting nurfed!?! *Sigh*
Pzychotix Feb 20th 2008 10:24AM
Have you never specced 0/21/40 Demo sac Destro? PVE DPS is unaffected. PVP locks will be affected, on the other hand.
Naix Feb 20th 2008 10:35AM
I am a pvp lock.
