Steve Aoki hates World of Warcraft
DJ Steve Aoki, brother of Devon "deadly little Miho" Aoki and one of the heirs to the Benihana steak house fortune, hates World of Warcraft. Our favorite game got a weird mention in New York Magazine -- in a "21 Questions" interview with the DJ, also known as Kid Millionaire, he says that his biggest enemy is Blizzard's big MMO. Getting rid of the game, he says, has left him "much happier."I'm not quite sure what else to say to that, except that I wonder what he played. My guess is that it was a Shaman -- he probably didn't have so many problems with spending too much time playing the game (after all, he's a DJ, and they don't work before sundown anyway) as he just did with all the constant nerfs. Maybe when those buffs show up, he'll be back.

You know, trolling your own blog is probably generally considered poor form, but I enjoyed it. 7/10.

Seriously. The shaman complaints are getting ooooold. They (we) are in need of buffs. We get it.

So you're now reporting on nobodies who don't like the game. What about my grandmother? You gonna do a story on her about how she doesn't like the game? Please, put something decent on the front page instead of this garbage.
SaintStryfe Feb 22nd 2008 3:46PM
Umm.. what? Mike, I agree with you fully but that was stupid to post. By the God have you ever considered we have to live with the non-Shaman types?
And why should I give one shake if the heir to the Benihana fortune gave up wow and doesn't like it any more? Is he launching another MMO? Is he just a schmuck who couldn't control his own play?
Bah, bad run Mike. Let the guys at Massively deal with this sorta stupid.

I'm all in favor of discussing shaman woes, and I do think they need to be talked about, but there was no need for it here.

How did you turn this into Shaman qq?
The article had absolutely nothing to do with the Shaman class!
Not in good taste in my opinion.
Camaris Feb 22nd 2008 3:54PM
Who is that?
Beelzebud Feb 22nd 2008 3:56PM
If you post this, now you have to post the Youtube video of one of the guys from Cannibal Corpse talking about how much he loves how, and calls all alliance players wimps. :D

Mike Shramm's Shaman QQ Troll skill is now 375/375.
Grats Mike, that was truly an epic attempt to turn a completely irrelevant story into a shaman whine.
Jagoex Feb 22nd 2008 4:01PM
This story could have been a great lead-in to the topic of WoW addictions. Here's to hoping that it and stories like it will be taken more seriously in the future.

I may be wrong here but Mikes focus audience is shamans right? So if he writes with them in mind, so what? get over it.
As to the ariticle, im sure its just something he happened across and thought it worth mention for anyone who might care. Or anyone like myself, dragging themselves through work, trying to find every diversion they can till it's time to go home.
bottom line is all the above posters stopped an read it. Thats his job, draw people to the site. it worked

I don't think any new users came here to read this article...lol
All of the above posters are probably loyal readers like me that just wondered "wtf?" when they read this article.
The article says one line about wow:
Who is your mortal enemy?-
"Well as of two years ago it was World of Warcraft. But I got rid of it and I'm much happier."
and nothing about shamans....
