Around Azeorth: Ancient mystery unearthed
You've probably seen plenty of screenshots of the floating islands of Nagrand, but this one stands out among the others. Look closer and you'll see something a little different embedded in the side: a fossil of...what? Player Sin of Alexstrasza who sent us the shot suggests perhaps ancient flying clefthoof. What do you think?
Do you have any unusual World of Warcraft images that are just collecting dust in your screenshots folder? Because we'd love to see it on Around Azeroth! Sharing your screenshot is as simple as e-mailing aroundazeroth@wow.com with a copy of your shot and a brief explanation of the scene. You could be featured here next!
Remember to include your player name, server and/or guild if you want it mentioned. We prefer full screen shots without the UI showing. And please, no more sunsets. No, really. Ok, only if it's a sunrise in new Patch 2.4 lands. We'll take those anytime. Oh, and no more shots of Omen killed in Ogrimmar. It's cool, we get it. A lot of it.

"Omen killed in Orgrimmar?"
What does that refer to? Only "Omen" I could find was the one in Moonglade: http://www.wowhead.com/?npc=15467

It refers to http://www.wowinsider.com/2008/02/09/omen-meet-orgrimmar-orgrimmar-meet-omen/ where Omen is kited from moonglade all the way to Orgrimmar (or at least I think it does)

That's exactly what it refers to.
I guess a lot of people would train the raid boss Omen, from Moonglade, to Orgrimmar, and submitting screens.
I'd like to see Omen in Darnassus.

Isn't the an exact repeat, comment and all?

Never mind, guess it was this one.

... I'm going to deliberately misspell this, because if you don't know it, you don't need to google it.
That cap looks seriously like a goat-cee reference.

Why would it have to be a flying clefthoof? How long ago was Draenor destroyed? Heck! It doesn't have to be a fossil at all!
Sorry, been reading Pharyngula, feelin' my skepticism.

I agree, the floating islands would appear to be broken pieces of the land below, not to mention how difficult it would be to bury something in mid air.
Aldazor Feb 23rd 2008 1:23PM
It looks more like a dragon who was flying a little too fast... With it's eyes closed.
Narak Feb 23rd 2008 1:53PM
A simple answer is that the islands are pieces of Nagrand that broke apart when Draenor asploded, and this piece just happened to have a fossil in it.
Scientific theories in WoW, lulz.

ya i was about to say that.
Those island's werent flying pre-xplosion. They only happened like that cause the world went boom boom.

This is at least the second, if not the third time this island has been featured on Around Azeroth. Isn't there something more interesting to show?
