Our guild is in the murky waters area: we have a weekly Karazhan run, but perhaps ten guild members out of thirty or forty people actually run in it. We've used the money to buy extra tabs so far, but I rather dread what will happen when we run out of tabs. I've already dealt with one situation where an officer asked if he could use guild funds to pay for an enchant; sure, the enchant would benefit the raiders because it's always good to have your tank all enchanted up, but how does that benefit the other forty people who don't raid and perhaps tend to spend time on their own, even though they contribute regularly to the bank? It does and the officer got a light slap on the hand.
We've fun guild functions coming up, though, so that should help.
We clearly defined all of the uses we have for the gold and further specified that all gold that comes into the bank becomes guild property; that means that members can't dictate where it goes, but they can definitely have their say to help convince the officers.
