Forum Post of the Day: Pray for the warlocks
Sure, QQing can get old after a while, but as long as you do it creatively, a good whine is always welcomed. That's why this forum thread, offering up prayers in many religions for Warlocks after their troubles with Lifetap, is so funny. Yeah, it's Warlocks whining -- they've been doing that for a long time. But it's Warlocks whining in a creative and interesting way, so that makes it much better.
Who knows what deity might encourage Blizzard to lift the nerfs for good and bless us all with buffs aplenty? We don't know it's Jesus, St. St. Maximilian Mary Kolber (the patron saint of addicts), Jebus, Thor, Sargeras (for the Legion!), or Buddha, pretty much the only recourse left to save your class from debilitating nerfs is just to pray (or meditate, if you'd rather do that) as hard as you can.
Thanks, rjvv!

Have you played any game where there´s no (cheese) and whine, complaint, or QQing?
Must comming whines:
- gg, XXX (MMO´s company name), i took 2 years to level cap and now the new people get it in 30 days.
- gg, why Y class gets buffed and I´m nerfed
- Change this or I quit
etc etc....

I think Penny Arcade sums it up best:

However, I think you're missing the whole point of the post, that instead of standard run-of-the-mill QQ, locks have gotten to the point where funny and creative posts (like the prayers) are the only option.

we have been nerfed every single patch since the coming of BC a year ago....this is rediculous...i dont know any other class that has been nerfed EVERY SINGLE patch since TBC...Its about time for a buff not a nerf! Seriously...something non pvp buffed like enslave demon or stacking SS
Amux Feb 29th 2008 6:28AM
WL are the most balanced class in Wow. And have their superbuffs get in classic WoW. Since than the WL get OP. But only in 1on1 situations. It is the best class in 1on1.
Negatron Feb 28th 2008 7:27PM
Shamans have also been nerfed every patch since BC.
So there has been more than one class getting nerfed patch by patch.
ok I'll stop QQing now
imparush Feb 29th 2008 7:28AM
yeah but they getting alot of good buff in this patch
censorman Feb 29th 2008 11:37AM
we FINALLY got a lil attention in this patch.
and no, 'shaman' didn't get good stuff, enhance got a few things. MS isn't what they needed. They needed a way to make up the distance between them and their opponents. FS doesn't cut it.
Ele got un-nerfed after a tree cutting nerf. Was beginning to think blizz were lumberjacks.
Locks. Haha. I love that they might have to finally hit more than 3 buttons to win. Shaman get attention and locks FINALLY get a nerf. Good day indeed.

Hay! Richard is the only warlock allowed to eat babies!

I love that you (mike) are making a post about whining considering the amount of Shaman whining that you did on last week's WOW Insider show. It is priceless. But I guess if anyone has experience playing a class constantly getting screwed over it's you.
My main is your Fav to hate on a Ret Pally, but I do also have a warlock that I have been working on and I can finally understand your pain at being nerfed.
I think we should start a support group for nerfed classes except that I don't know if you will qualify because Shaman actually got a buff this week. Oh, well hold on to the faith, Blizzard will get around to nerfing Shamans in some bizarre way before 2.4 goes live.
Narissa of Eldre Thalas Feb 28th 2008 8:28PM
What is it with people and adapting to new tactics.
I get it, it's a nerf. Left be real though, crying, trolling, and whining will get you no where. Though cute with the prays thing IMO.
Seriously though, wait and see what the 2.4 has to hold, not the preliminary data.
Narissa of Eldre Thalas Feb 28th 2008 8:29PM
Pardon all spelling errors. Yes I know they are there.
Xtazey Feb 28th 2008 9:08PM
Soo... If I'm godlike, and mean, and I'm being bit by bit reduced to a mortal it's unfair against me?
Blacksabre Feb 29th 2008 1:00AM
Finally, warlocks get nerfed enough to make them scream.
Do it again, Blizz...we love it.
One warlock shadow bolt does about twice as much damage as a mages frostbolt, takes the same casting time, and uses the same mana. Blizz says mages are supposed to be the DPS standard...I assume they meant "dps median"...as in 50% of what warlocks can do.
This whining as all about "We were so overpowered, and now we aren't QUITE as overpowered."
Spare us...I'll trade a water elemental for your felguard...what...no?
This is sad...the loudest lobby gets the goodies...the only real usable change that mages got since BC was the improved mana emerald. That's pathetic.
Don't worry though, warlocks. Blizz will see the light and triple your enslave duration times, or something.
Verit Feb 29th 2008 1:46AM
Actually the base damage for frostbolt is a full 40 hp higher that shadowbolt - with the same +damage mages should be able to hit for more - because its the same spell damage coefficient.
Just because you're a scrub that doesn't have anything to mitigate shadowbolt crits means warlocks are more powerful.
Mages have all kinds of talents and abilities that have been buffed to improve mana regen (evocation for instance - which used to be dependent on spirit...). Warlocks only have lifetap and darkpact - the last one a talent deep within affliction - which are being nerfed.
nadavga Feb 29th 2008 2:39AM
The damage that the bolts do has alot to do with the amount of spell damage gear the player is wearing. For instance I was in Netherwing mines one evening and hooked up with an arcane mage that all he needed to do was cast arcane missles at maximum range and the flayer was killed before it could reach him, as opposed to any spells I could muster (my DoTs plus shadow bolts or Drain Life) Which took at least 30 seconds to take the mob down
NeSuKuN Feb 29th 2008 4:00AM
If you cant overDPS a lock with a mage with same-level equip you are probably doing something wrong
pfooti Feb 29th 2008 7:03AM
This idiocy is exactly why there's such bad blood on the forums. Yeah, warlocks got screwed, and I'll post my reasoning about that later. But here, Blacksabre, you're a complete and total idiot.
http://www.wowhead.com/?spell=38697
http://www.wowhead.com/?spell=27209
Frostbolt hits harder from base damage, has the same scaling coefficient, and COSTS LESS MANA!
In closing, you are wrong about everything. The reasons your frostbolts hit like nerf is because you're not geared well.
souvlaki Feb 29th 2008 7:31AM
Plus Frostbolt is an damage+utility spell to slow down targets while shadowbolt is only a damage spell
imparush Feb 29th 2008 7:34AM
pfooti you forgot to say it also slow the target. to Blacksabre, just because you don't know how to play your class and warlock does don't it mean warlock are OP
ThorinII Feb 29th 2008 11:02AM
Even if his facts are off on dmg to mana ratio etc... he makes and excellent point....
"We were so overpowered, and now we aren't QUITE as overpowered."
WAAAAH! Get over it.
