Insert cute pet story here
About 3 months ago I got my first pet. His name is Max, and is a grey domestic short hair cat. He was a stray that was scratching at my apartment door on a very cold November evening. At the time it was decided that he was just going to stick around for the night, but he grew on us so quickly that we weren't able to let him go. He now is a happy member of my family, and just like the rest of them, he has to put up with me playing World of Warcraft.Except, it's not really "putting up with" WoW, it's more like "intensely interested in what's going on." Max will often times spend the whole four hours of the night's raid spread across the desk staring at my computer screen. He'll react to the sounds, the bright flashes of light, and occasionally even other in game cats. When someone says "lol" and their character laughs, he'll jump and stare down the speaker the laugh came from.
Max has even been responsible for a few wipes. He has a tendency to want to jump on my keyboard when I'm standing very still, waiting to run in and engage the boss. At the top of the stairs ready to tank Vashj? Max is there too, and unless I've got my hand covering the arrow keys, he'll be the one to do the pull.
Back when I was a kid and lived with my parents, I always had large dogs that loved to lay at my feet while I played computer games. Of course, this might have been due to the endless supply of treats I provided them with... but I'll just pretend it's because they liked me. Back then I was into EverQuest, and the dogs did not like the music. Barking and howling would always be the name of the game if I had it on.
So readers, I ask you, what are some of your cute pet stories? Any epic wipes (or successes) due to your pet?

My cat actually managed to steer me from the entrance of BWL into Vael (Pulling him, of course) by walking on the keyboard when I wasn't in the room, which is pretty amazing.

I've had my ferret get me into some sticky situations a few times. I've gone to get a drink and I come back to find out he has gotten me killed. He also has managed to open up im windows on AIM and type to people on my friends list.

My little Kitty, 9 Months old, loves to sit on the top of my monitor and follow my pointer. Or he will sit and pose for me. He never goes near my keyboard, so he has never caused a wipe.

I went from 56 to 58 with my cat lying on both of my wrists at the same time...kinda hard^^

My cat likes to lay on the lap and rest her head on my right wrist...the mouse hand...so yeah - I completely relate.
Her brother gets extremely pissed when the computer is getting more attention than him, so he crawls under the desk and bites my toes...quite uncomfortable :P During a raid one night I accidentally yelled "quit biting my toes!" while the mic was on...need I say more?

lol.
I'm glad some people see my humor in doing a story about cats and mice. Tomorrow there'll be an article on whats the best low level hunter pet - a bear or a wolf. So tune in. Hehe.

In my old guild, our hunters real-life cat managed to send her in-game cat right into Sulfuron Harbringer.
Yeah, that was fun.

I was in the deadmines with a friend of mine once, and he went afk for a few minutes to deal with a call of nature.
After a couple minutes, he started casting Arcane explosion repeatedly, and I noticed that he killed a couple rats in the process. After asking him a couple times what was going on, a couple minutes later he responded that he'd just gotten back, and evicted his cat from the keyboard... :)

We have two Chihuahuas. Our girl is more independent unless it's time for a chewy stick (rawhide stick). Our boy on the other hand insists on being up. I don't have a large desk but he has a pillow on one side and will curl up and go to sleep. Unless of course he's feeling clingy. Then he tries to walk around my desk. Searching from crumbs. Trying to mooch pets. Or trying to get me to hold him this makes playing quite difficult. There has been a number of times I've played one handed with the mouse, or had he and his pillow between me and the keyboard. On a few occasions he's rested his head on my left hand which is of course my fighting hand.
Both of our dogs have reacted to noises in the game. Especially the howling. During the recent Lunar Festival our girl was quite annoyed with and would start to bark every time she heard the fireworks go off.

I have a sad pet story to share. My cat Mittens of 17 years passed away last night. I brought my level 60 hunter out of retirement on that same night. I decided to tame a cat in honor of my Mittens. I picked up a beautiful cat in Winterspring and named her Mittens. I then proceeded to the Outlands to play with my beloved Mittens. I had left the computer for about 10 minutes. Upon my return, I had noticed Mittens was nowhere to be seen. This saddened me deeply. Much like my real life Mittens, the in-game Mittens had left me. There will only ever be one Mittens in my life.

One of my four-year old cats has this sense that she needs to come in to bug me the second I group to do a run, and since my mic's voice-activated, my guildies get a kick out of hearing this little "rawr, mrowr" noise she makes when she wants my attention. Only wipe it's caused so far was on Murmur because we were laughing so much. :)
One of my older ones will jump on the back of my chair and nearly knock me over. Not a normal day if it doesn't happen.

My 15 year old cat died on my lap while I was playing WoW. I knew he was dying, he had cancer and was going down fast, and I wanted to hold him at the end, but it took 3 hours, I feel bad that I wasn't JUST there for Tigon, but I am glad I was holding him.
