Breakfast Topic: Your favorite title

We at WoW Insider like our titles. Mike once made a little rant about how he would've liked to see the return of the old PvP ranks. Having no Blood Elf High Warlords or Draenei Grand Marshals make me a little sad on the inside. Although Bornakk has already stated that they would like to keep titles "rare", it seems like we're getting a few more really cool titles with the juiciest patch to date. For example, even though attunement to the Black Temple and Mount Hyjal will be removed in Patch 2.4, players who have completed the quest line will be honored with the title "Hand of A'dal" just as players who completed the Serpentshrine Cavern and Tempest Keep attunement are called "Champion of the Naaru". Some titles are cool, while some are mere remnants of the old world... who among you really wears their "Grunt" or "Private" ranks with pride? Patch 2.4 also promises an awesome title for those who achieve Exalted with the Shattered Sun offensive... and have money to burn. Perhaps the rarest title of all is the "Scarab Lord" which can only be obtained at one point in a server's lifetime, and it's no mean feat. Though there've been humorous suggestions as to what other titles should be made available in the game, what's your favorite title so far? Is it one of your in-game goals? Are you one of the few who managed to reach High Warlord or Grand Marshal? Or are you happy with Champion or Knight-Lieutenant? Personally, I'm trying to grind Conqueror with my Blood Elf although I've got 1,000 gold stashed away because "... of the Shattered Sun" sounds just so gosh-darned cool. What about you?

I'd like to see "...of the Silver Hand" be made available in Northrend. I wouldn't mind betting whoever gets to down Arthas will get something like "...Bane of the Lich King"
I think everyone would/should be eligible for "...Slayer of Murlocs"

I guess it's cool that they're rare but...they should bring back the PvP ranks somehow. Those aren't really rare. Plus I came late to the party and I can't wait to get one...1000g for "Of the Shattered Sun" and exalted...can't wait!

I got stuck at Sgt. on my main. It's not much to be proud of really. I'd love for them to bring back the PvP ranks so I can try to get a higher rank.

I still have "Scout" on my lvl 70... Always thought I'd do PVP when I hit lvl 70 - then they changed the PVP system... Now I PVP whenever I can. But I too would like a return of the ranks, from PVP or even some sort of quest chain - we are at war - we should have ranks.

I really miss the old school pvp titles, they gave the characters a much more authentic feel. Kinda like they were actually fighting in a worldwide conflict. I only managed to get one char. any title at all b4 they changed it and I would love to get some of my newer characters military titles. I just hope if they reinstitute them that they are tied to honor, not the arena.

I like my Justicar title. You get it for being exalted with the 3 original battlegrounds. They did it to reward old school PVPers. I also have Lieutenant Commander but prefer using Justicar as its much rarer - even more rare than some arena titles.

My highest is also Lieutenant Commander but what made me made is I need one more week to get Commander. Blizzard changed the system that week, my bar was full, so it should have been simple to get to Commander rank and get my mount, but I had to grind for gold instead to get my mount. I didn't play for almost month after the patch because of the change.

When I heard the PvP titles were going to be deprecated, I started a PvP campaign to get up to Knight rank and then stopped completely.
I practically don't PvP but liked the idea of bein Knight Elessil. xD

I know there was already a post a couple weeks ago hashing it out, but I think it's ludicrous to pay 1kg for a title. Then again, I'm hardly ever one to have the gold burning holes in my pockets like some long-70 players.

It's not just the 1000g, you also have to get exalted, which isn't terribly difficult, but it does take some time and work.

I had Stone Guard on my shaman, but I just recently read all about Scarab Lord before reading this which is Amazing. I might buy the new title but since I recenly rerolled engineering money is sort of an issue for me. w/e

I'm surprised that Blizzard hasn't yet added this to the WotLK features movie yet!

Sorry I'm just suffering from a bit of withdrawal with the realms being down and all ;) A little more realistically though I could think of many better ways to spend 1000g. Anybody walking around with this title may as well be branded as:
MoneyBags 'of Gold Farmers Inc!'

Actually, I'd like to get rid of those old PvP titles alltogether, or at least revise them based on Rep or something. I hate my warrior being a grunt, with no chance of getting rid of it.

The people who ground to Grand Marshal/High Warlord would likely take issue with it, and rightfully so. Getting rid of any title would be sort of silly, but it would be nice to have new things to work for outside of arenas.

I love the titles, i'd love one myself (although nto for 1k gold) but i can see why they are rare. I played LOTRO for 2 days, in which time i received 3 titles :/ The most ridiculous was 'Gopherfender - Spider Foe' I mean WTF?
Keep them hard to attain but put in a few more plz blizz
PS - Agreed with Joust, kill your 10,000th Murloc and get a title, but please not 'Gopherfender - Murloc Foe'

I'm stuck as a corporal, but I've always wanted to be a Knight-Lieutenant. Two of my favorite titles in one, it's perfect for me. Though Knight-Lieutenant Feoremar does sound a little...off...who cares? I like 'em.
