Downtime Today, March 4th

- Browse WoW Insider. You can check out some of the most popular tags or the various categories off to the left there,or click on one of the feature banners. If you're hungry for PTR news, the patch 2.4 banner will lead you to a handy page that breaks down all of our various 2.4 reports. I'm also a pretty big fan of our Know Your Lore section. If you're not sure why we're going after Kil'jaedan in 2.4, see what he did before he showed up the Blood Elves' doorstep. Get a head start on understanding WoTLK lore with articles about the lore behind the Death Knights and Arthas. If all else fails, open your favorite article, click some of the tags just below it, and see where those lead to. You might find some hidden gems you didn't know about.
- Start making your 2.4 plan of attack. This is where WoW Insider can help you again. Check out the new fishing dailies and see if they inspire you to grab your fishing pole once the servers come back up. Figure out how you're going to get all those Badges of Justice for the new badge gear.
- Play another game for a while! It's heresy, I know, but they exist. I'm addicted to Audiosurf at the moment, myself.
- Watch what happens when Jaina Proudmoore goes on the road.
- If you're registered to vote in Texas, Ohio, Rhode Island, or Vermont, consider voting.

Is tomorrow 2.4?
Daniel Whitcomb Mar 4th 2008 4:54AM
It's very doubtful Byrd. They've just started another round of testing on the Sunwell bosses, and they're still testing the Midsummer Flame Festival and some of the class changes, so it'll likely be on the test server for a while. This downtime is probably just normal server maintenance.

"Consider voting"? How about, "Fulfill your obligation as a citizen whether or not the game is down."
Anyone playing WoW instead of taking the time to vote should be dunked in cheese sauce and used cat litter and left out for the seagulls to peck.

wow, I guess that's common punishment in Texas or Ohio. I thought they just hung people in Texas. (Or those other little states... What are they again?)

"How about, "Fulfill your obligation as a citizen whether or not the game is down."
Fulfill my "obligation as a citizen"?!? What is this a socialized/communist society we live in? Voting is not mandatory by any means. If you think voting for anyone is going to change anything your sadly mistaken. This is all a act put on every 4 years to make the people feel like we make a difference. Candidates are not voted into office because they are the best, but because they are the easiest to control with the most influence.
glaci3r Mar 4th 2008 10:43AM
that is the wrong attitude to have. if you decide to not vote because you do not think it would make a difference then that is the wrong reason. yes your just one voice in a pool of thousands to millions (depending on your state), but its still your voice and you should make it heard.
Naix Mar 4th 2008 11:08AM
Have you looked at the voting system lately? Its flawed so bad and we are still using paper to vote on. Until popular vote and electronic voting are the standard voting will be a joke.
Voting does not make a difference. Period. At the end of the day I still have to pay 33%+ of my check in taxes. I still have to wonder where all that money is going. I still don't have a choice. Republican or Democrat it all goes down the same tube.

I'd rather folks who don't know what they're doing and don't care to learn didn't vote; if they fail to fill the obligation to care and learn, it doesn't hurt to fail to vote
Hopefully the body politic should be a little more rational than the high school class president's election?

"I'd rather folks who don't know what they're doing and don't care to learn didn't vote; if they fail to fill the obligation to care and learn, it doesn't hurt to fail to vote"
I guess I fall into an interesting category with you then. I do know what I am doing BUT I don't care to vote. I know enough not to care. Ignorance is a bliss I wish I possessed.

Downtime Tuesdays usually translate into "Get off your bum and clean your house!" day for me. Time to wrangle up those empty water bottles and soda cans!
And kudos to another person being addicted to Audiosurf.

I for one plan on amusing myself by laughing at the ragers playing DoTA.
Im new to the experience so its kind of still a novelty getting harassed for being a n00b at it .... good times:P
Naix Mar 4th 2008 10:18AM
DOTA FTW
Lev Mar 4th 2008 6:25AM
My god these 3am shutdowns suck on Oceania servers, 10pm server time, but potentially more like 8pm for quite a lot of players. Knocks out the day pretty much.
Lanth Mar 4th 2008 6:27AM
Bah, so very dodgy. I work Wednesday 12-6 (normally 9-6), which means I can stay up later on Tuesday nights. But typically, over here maintinence starts around 7pm Tuesday night.
Eh, I'll just plan my new computer.
Mario Mar 4th 2008 7:12AM

Downtime Tuesday's usually translate into some lame post about how the servers are down and a bunch of comments like this one.
Go ahead vote me down - you know it's true :p
