I tanked prince for the first time last week on my pally with just under 14K health and just over 14K armor (before buffs). I have 492 defense (uncrittable) and just over 102.4% combined avoidance (uncrushable).

The first attempt, I ran out of mana and we wiped. The second attempt, I judged and sealed wisdom the whole time and we were successful.

Note that I didn't use any flasks or food buffs. I only used wizard oil on my sword for the extra spell damage.

So for a shaman, I think the biggest problem is going to be mana as well, not armor and health. If you have a balanced group that really knows the fight well, it's really not that tough. Positioning the groupt to avoid the elementals and shadow novas is critical. If you're in the wrong spot, you're dead.
