I love my wife. I don't think I can say it enough. I was able to convince her to play
World of Warcraft with me when the game first came out and luckily for me, she got hooked. We've been playing partners ever since, from her getting lost in the Orc and Troll starting area to exploring Sunstrider Isle together for the first time. Sometimes, she humors me by playing a few
Battlegrounds with me or even helps me complete my
Arena games when my teammates -- who have more or less quit the game -- fail to log on for the week. Sure, I have to twist her arm to do it, but she enjoys ribbing me after matches:
"I thought you were good? How come I beat your DPS and got all the Killing Blows?" Sometimes, I help her farm or watch her back while she fishes up another
Mr. Pinchy. Even when we're not together -- like when she immerses herself at the Auction House while I PvP -- we chat in-game and IRL. I can't be thankful enough for actually being married to my favorite playing partner since
others just aren't as lucky. Some of our bloggers, like
Lisa Poisso, plays with her
entire family! Just how cool is it to
play with your better half and two kids?
Amanda Dean has spent the last week
showing her mom around Azeroth.
How about you? Do you have a favorite playing partner? Whether it's your significant other, a roommate, a brother or cousin, or maybe even someone you met in-game, is there someone you enjoy playing the game with more than other people? Maybe there is one person you spend more time with than anyone else in Azeroth (or the Outlands, as the case may be). Why? What makes the experience unique or special? The coolest thing about an MMO is that you play with other people. And sometimes, there are just some people we like playing with more than others.

i have a select few people I love questing with, and we assist in boosting each other's alts.
adventurin_bob Mar 6th 2008 8:09AM
My friend Varrik, and my brother Snowstone.
We do most everything together. I levelled up with varrik, 0-60 and then 61-70. We've kicked a whole lot of ass together over the years, and helped each other out in many, many ways.
Jowbulla Mar 6th 2008 8:08AM
Back in the glorious days before we really knew what we were doing, it was Dhazghul and Jowbulla, two crazy arms spec warriors, trampling the world under our boots or non-boots (I'm a Troll). But, he quit a while ago and I'm left to soldier on.

right now me and my girlfirend of over a year have jsut started 2 rogues on new server, and are under strict instruction that we only play them together... this is a bit awkward at times, but is fantastic as we fly thru quests and have lots of random fun jsut goofing around :D
we used to have trouble in that i would level to fast and leave her behind, and she is quite quiet so wouldnt want to pester people looking for groups for instances etc..

I know this 17 year old guy who plays on the same server as his step dad, which he strongly dislikes. He really hates going on LFG, typing "LFG for heroic SL", and end up in a group to discover his daddy's tanking.

Currently, it's my boyfriend that my favorite to drag along. We're questing together as I've finally hit outlands on an alt (my 62 droood, his 64 warrior).
But the most fun I have is running through instances. He hops on his shammy to heal and I'm getting way too addicted to tanking. Plus the best part is, we can always fill out a group in a few minutes when you already have the healer and tank.

lol its great playing with family, my girlfriend has played ever since i started and were both hooked, then this Christmas gone we decided to try and get the family to play (we all have similar interests). First there was my cousin and uncle, then my two sisters and then there was my girlfriend's mother along with 5 of my real life friends. So we decided to make a guild, since then we have spread wow through the family like wild fire. Me and my girlfriend managed to get them all to choose balanced classes so were almost ready to do a family kara raid :)

My mate who played a mage. Damn we had a great time. I had a 60 lock, he had a 60 frostmage. At the time it was a deadly combo. Apart from the great pvp, we liked to 2man instances. It started out simply with farming Robe of Archmage pattern in LBRS and we loved it so much we then tried other instances with mixed results hehe.

I play with a whole bunch of people - primarily my guild-mates - but rarely actually have a side-by-side questing buddy.
I'm very lucky in that our guild is relatively close-knit. We all know each other offline as well as online (if not directly, then through another guild-member) and are always chatting with one another, sharing some utterly hilarious in-jokes.
Most of us are couples (bf's and gf's) who bumped into each other during random play. We'll bring in our siblings, our friends and so forth. As a guild, we help each other out during particularly difficult quests. The camaraderie is fantastic.
We're fairly evenly spaced out with regards to levels. I often will join my guild mates in dungeons and instances even if it's too low level for me, just for the heck of it, as we enjoy working together so much. :)
I find myself surprised to realise that, despite being part of a guild and a couple, I solo a fair bit. Occasionally I'll call on my heroic L70 bf to come in and save the day. My brother now plays and is leveling up nicely during the week; I visit him from time to time whenever we're nearby or en route. It's a great feeling, especially when we live quite far away from each other IRL.
I'm glad I play with them, even if we're not always playing directly side to side - my favourite playing buddies are my guildies, but they're perfect because they're there when I really need them, not because we're joined at the hip. :)

When I can, I love playing with my paramour. I'm extremely competative, so a lot of battles or raids in-game when we're both on DPS classes degrade into competitions as to who can do the most damage before our tank goes beserk and starts yelling at us. We've started to keep running tallies of the winners, with various tangible real life rewards at stake. For someone playing since open beta, it adds a refreshing, quirky, fun dimension to the game that leaves us laughing sometimes.
We level alts together in our spare time, when our busy raiding schedules give us some downtime (we raid both apart and together currently). The Retribution paladin/Affliction warlock combination is a fun one for us, especially since I get to turn the tables on him and he's the one forced to stop damaging and start healing through my antics for once. The joys of chain fearing have brought numerous mobs to our heels - and hours of laughing. And few things rock as much as when we pair our Elemental and Enhancement shamans together and shock the ever-living shit out of everything. I'm so amused.
And I'm surprised just how much you can twist basic concepts or skills in the game to have some sort of sexual innuendo.

My wife and I play together all the time; a beautiful pairing, too, considering we both played before we met- I'm a Feral druid tank, and she's a resto druid healer... it's never a problem, getting a group together ^_-
We also play with her family; all her siblings play, as well as her parents. It's a lot of fun, running instances/Arenas with her brothers, and helping her folks level (they're not quite 70 yet, but they love the game, so ^_^ )
Solex Mar 6th 2008 11:05AM
My girlfriend, we raid together. It's weird I play a rogue and she plays a shadow priest, so during fights I don't see much of her until I'm low on health just about to die and I get a power word: shield. I always know exactly who it came from. We didn't lvl together because we didn't when we started so we've decided when Lich King comes out we're going to lvl together.

I enjoy playing with my 65 yr oid father, or my brother and his wife, or my uncle or my son....we all play Alliance on the same server. Alas, my wife doesn't play. She has learned to deal with my playing, but still doesn't like it.
Soldat Mar 6th 2008 9:18AM
I play with my best friend that I'm enamored with. She was why I started playing initially and we're currently on our third set of characters together. She did a hunter and myself a 'lock when we started, and we got bored of that quick.
Our current mains are a Holy Priest and my Prot Warrior that we love, and our new alts are a paladin and druid. We've already planned to swap the pally and druid and try the reverse next.
Honestly I doubt I'd log in much at all if it wasn't because she made the game so much fun.

My brother and friends. Everyone else needs to lrn2ply
Angus Mar 6th 2008 9:19AM
Wife: Druid, 70. Feral and resto, well geared
Me: Shaman, 70, Enhance and resto, well geared.
We cover for each other, she sometimes switches to bear and pulls my but out of the fire, or throws heals, sometimes I throw heals or add my dps to hers.
She's an awesome tank, great healer, and a fun partner.
She also mocks me when she beats me in duels.
For other folks: I have a group of guys I party with in heroics.
Almost no CC, people on dial-up with me being the only one in mostly T4 and yet we manage to go with almost no wipes in pretty much any heroic we go into. 60 minute Heroic Bot runs, followed by 40 minute heroic mech means a lot of badges when one is the daily. I need to play with those guys again.

I've got a couple of RL friends that I try to group with whenever I can. One is a buddy who lives about 500 miles away, so grouping up for Friday night drunken WoW is pretty much the only time we spend together. The other is my friend who got me into the game, who used to live right down the street but unfortunately had to move about 150 miles away for work a few weeks ago. Azeroth still manages to bridge most geographical boundaries, though. :-)
I really, really wish I could get my wife to play. Sometimes she seems mildly interested but I can't quite get her to just give it a shot. My family is very old fashioned, so I can't really envision convincing any of them to try it.
I do envy folks who are able to play with family members. The guild I belong to is made up primarily of a group of cousins, siblings, nephews, neices etc., with a few in-game friends like me thrown in for good measure.
kunukia Mar 6th 2008 9:20AM
My son and I play together daily. We have a couple of pairs that have leveled together, such as our hunter/mage level 70s, that are now raiding together. We also have a warrior/shaman combo, now 68, and other toons that get together to help each other with hard quests and instances.
It is very good times indeed, although we occasionally bicker, and so we use direct talk-to-each-other mode, so as not to annoy the other guildies on TS.
