Autofollow + AFK = bad idea

I was taking a guildie through some dull Barrens quests near Ratchet when she typed "brb" and /followed me. She asked me to take her to a town so that she could check her mail when she returned. She did not specify which town. So I jumped on the boat to Booty Bay. The timing was such that she auto-afk'ed right as the boat pulled up to dock. I ran onto the dock, saw that she was still on board and sitting. The boat pulled away with her on it, and when it zoned back to Kalimdor with her still on follow, she was disconnected.

I don't know if it was coincidence or not, but friends, don't zone away from the person you're following.
