Soloing can be epic, too
Though everyone talks about it a lot, raiding or even grouping isn't the only way to achieve something in the World of Warcraft. There's something for everyone. While I do raid, there's a lot of solo content that I really feel proud of completing. At the top of my list is mastering the Shartuul's Transporter event. For quite awhile it would just stomp me into the ground, until one day I found my groove and was able to get through to the end. It took a handful of the Charged Crystal Focuses(foci?) for the 'special' abilities, but I did it. From there, I did the event as often as I could, until I could get through it without using any Foci. Now? Easy as pie. The event is basically free potions and potential epics for me now. Assuming it doesn't bug out. Spawn, you stupid eyeball! Spawn!
I've also been working on rep for a Wintersaber, but even after the buffs to reputation gains on that grind, I have a hard time staying interested. I've been doing it in little bit and pieces, and I really look forward to when I finally get a pink kitty.
So I'm curious, what are your solo accomplishments? That little(or big) thing you met head on and mastered on your own?

I'm pretty proud of getting exalted with the Timbermaw tribe. It's the only non-horde faction that I've gotten to exalted and I still have screenshots from when Thrall /yelled to Orgrimmar. I'm sure this isn't any big deal to a lot of people but it made me happy.

Ahh, good old Wintersaber and Timbermaw. I'm currently working on both right now, and yeah, even with the rep buffs, it's painfully slow. I'm 26% through Revered with Wintersaber and over 50% through Revered with Timbermaw. Other than that, the 19 other factions I'm exalted with is probably my biggest solo accomplishment.
That and my 55+ pets.

I have the Wintersabre mount, started the grind at 58 and a month later gained the mount and level 62 as well. That's probably my proudest solo accomplishment in the game, I just wish that the rep grind wasn't made easier... I'm starting to see more people with the mount on Hellscream.

I've been working on Wintersaber rep (halfway through revered!) but my guildmates just mock me for going through all that trouble. Most of them think that once you're high enough level to start Outland content, you should never have any reason to go back to the Old World.
I'll play the game how I want, thank you very much.

My first time soloing a baron-run Stratholme felt pretty epic for me. Mind you, I'm only a T4-T5 rogue, so I'm not anything 'special'. It was even better the times I did it with no deaths at all.
And yea, Shartuul is pretty epic as well, although I haven't gotten farther than controlling the female demon.

"I really look forward to when I finally get a pink kitty."
I bet you do.

I just ground out Timbermaw, it was pretty fun. I'm saving thrall yelling my name, though, for some special event or something :)
Best way to get timbermaw rep - grind them and kill them, save all your feathers. Eventually it'll get to a point that, if you turn in all your feathers, you're exalted.
I was about 2k into honored and turned in my 1000+ (whatever the number was that got me exalted) feathers/beads and vowed never to kill another deadwood furbolg again. "deadwood furbolg", because I think someone said there'll be furbolg in Northrend. Good times.

am working on the Timbermaw and Wintersabre factions. have Kurnei at exalted already, but that was fairly easy, high rep from killing the ogres is very nice.
probably soloing the Fel Reaver for the key quest. that took a bit of doing. and some handy NPC's so i guess it wasn't that much of a solo... :)
soloing quests that are supposed to take several ppl are probably my favorite accomplishment...

I hope to finish the Netherwing races soon. I'm on Skyshatter now, so it's just a matter of mastering his race.
Yeah, it's just a Riding Crop, but I'll have earned it.

I was one of the first three on my server to get their netherdrake back when it first released (back when they were actually cool to fly around on - now everyone and their vanity pet has them), days before everyone else.
I also am proud that I got exalted with the Winterspring Trainers before patch 2.3. :)

I solo'd the Big Bone Worm quest the other day, as a 66 'lock. Threw three felguards at it and played Chicken Run with some walls at the Auchinon ring. Sure, it wasn't a major thing, but I felt really cool for pulling it off.
Then I was with a PuG that tried and wiped on Durn the Hungerer like three times and my head got way back down to normal, so.

Gathering 50 coins of ancestry was my best accomplishment, and man did that feel good when i picked up that last coin

Made my lvl 70 ally mage in 11 days after expansion came(Real life time) and got my epic flying mount a week after. Made exalted with netherwing.
Just dinged lvl 70 with a horde mage! :)

In vanilla-WoW I grinded my way to Earthstrike (+AP-trinket) by gaining reputation at the Circle of Cenarius.
It was an interesting experience and I swore to myself never to do anything in an MMORPG so free of fun again. I remenber the summer of 2006 as a blurry and bizarre mixture of killing Twilights in Silithus and watching feverishly the World Soccer Championship. Man, I had huge emotional hangover when we finaly lost the half-final against Italy... But back to topic Iswear: Never ever again any grind!

I just managed to clear whole Scholomance solo with my 70 warlock. Wasnt that easy, it took a while to get down some of the bosses. Now when I know then tacticts its quite easy and got scholomance on farm :p Yesterday I also took down Dreamtracker solo, the fight took 15 min using voidwalker ^^
lusiphr Mar 10th 2008 7:33AM
when i hit 70, i started to solo Scholo and LBRS. it was hard at first, crappy in fact, but now i can do it without a single death. would get about 250g per run counting DEs, AH items and coinage. it's how i got half the gold for my epic flier. i can solo Strath, but with all the curses and diseases i can't remove (i'm a lock), it super slow going. wanted to try UBRS, but need 3 peeps to get part the 3rd room.
in Outlands, i tried soloing Ramparts, but run out of mana at the first boss everytime. me and a 70 drood buddy can clear it though. >8D

got my wintersaber mount a few months ago. What a grind. I've only see one other on my server-- I'm sure there are more.
I also farmed all the BoP enchants in outlands. I don't mind farming if I know it will drop. Didn't take as long as the wintersaber mount though.
Theserene Mar 10th 2008 12:15PM
Getting the different flying mounts in Outland (okay, the initial stuff is grouped but after that you are clear to solo).
Fishing for Mr Pinchy
Exploring every single area in Azeroth and then seeing how many dungeons I can solo.
