2.4 invades the background downloader

Note that the patch is not, in fact, being released today, or even necessarily next week. But I would bet that it won't be more than a few weeks until the Sunwell is upon us. And when the patch does drop, someone's going to win fabulous prizes! More importantly, I'll have some new dailies to do. Hurry it up, Blizz (but don't release it before it's ready, of course).
Edit: Patch 2.3 was on the background downloader for 12 days before it was released, and 2.1 was 11 days. But 2.2 was on for over a month, so it's hard to predict for sure how this will go.
[Thanks, Amarius (and multiple other tipsters)]

Nerf shamans ability to steal underwear? Is there some shaman thievery going on that I don't know about? I guess it's time to put that lock back on the underwear drawer and tighten up my belt.

I'm still hoping for some time. I still have a few more Aldor rep points to farm, and a couple more HFC runs and a SLabs run or two to hit exalted with Aldor, Thrallmar and LC. Then my TBC goals will be fulfilled.
Though it would sure be nice if I could also get another alt to 70 before the patch, but since the closest one that I actually play (not counting a near-50 bank alt) is still at 36, so that's not gonna happen.

They haven't tested anything beyond the Eredar twins in Sunwell and the instance is still closed, I think we still have a bit of a wait.
Tarot Mar 13th 2008 1:25AM
Not necessarily. If they don't unlock the later bosses for, say, 3 weeks, that gives them plenty of time to continue messing around with them on the test realm. Not particularly likely, I'll admit, but possible if they want to hurry out the patch.
Arabelli Mar 13th 2008 8:58AM
Publically.
It's likely that Kil'Jaeden and M'uru are being privately tested by VM or DNT.

Dang it. I'm almost done with the horrendous Karazhan-attunement. And now it becomes irrelevant!
Amux Mar 13th 2008 5:38AM
So the CMs and GMs had been at the ptr. The ptr is closing soon.
But what the hell are the changes for Shamans i mean Elemantar Schamans.
Do you really want to screew the class down.
I
I really think they do.

...here's a dagger. Stab a dictionary directly and spare us the gory view of your brutalizing dame English.

Nice to see it coming, although I still think it's a couple weeks away from release. I came back to the game for 2.3 and have leveled to 70, decked out mostly in epics, got my epic flyer, and half way to the Nether Drake. Game needs more content if I've blown through all the casual content in less than a patch cycle.

AND IN THE END!
shamans still didn't get any buff
Naix Mar 13th 2008 10:48AM
You can not buff the overpowered.
Epoc Mar 13th 2008 12:41PM
if you think shaman are overpowered then i'd hate to see what you call the real overpowered classes
Naix Mar 13th 2008 1:55PM
Shamans simply own at PVP, right now. On my warlock I get beat, on my Rogue I get beat, On my Priest beat again on healing.
What can't shamans do?
Arabelli Mar 13th 2008 9:50AM
There's still lots of time to do private testing, considering that the later bosses will not be available to any server until the later openings. And there's not likely to be public testing on the last two bosses anyway, if you think about it.
We probably will see it in under three weeks or so.
hennifer Mar 13th 2008 9:51AM
I'd like to see Blizz gain some balls and not get feared by all the QQing shamans or warlocks.
Naix Mar 13th 2008 10:51AM
I would say two weeks from now it will go live. 2 or 3 guilds testing does not equate to the amount of testing Blizzard dev have done. Blizzard has tested it so much that they want other players to look at what they might have missed.
