Hitting from the back by itself = incorrect.In order to ensure not being parried you need to melee from the maximum melee range behind a mob. The reason for this is that if you don't, your hitbox is actually in front of the mob and you will see parries from behind. I suggest something like SWstats or recount to see how many parries you do, and even backstabbers can get a parry for this reason. So don't assume that just because you can backstab you are behind. Also, if I recall correctly doesn't expertise also add chance to hit, reduces parries, and also increases criticals by a small quantity in the same fashion as weaponskill pre-bc?

No, all expertise does is reduce your target's dodge and parry chances, as the tooltip clearly states.
