I'm not on an RP server, but one does let one's imaginaion run when playing a game like this.
I see my dwarf hunter as not so much a hero as a treasure seeker. He chose to be a hunter because he had a nack for guns and had interest in having an animal companion to help with his quests to find treasure and fortune. A little food here and there is better than the share in profits a sentiate partner would demand. Sure he has to group up from time to time, but fame is over rated to him. So, being a hero by helping take out the Horde or raid bosses aren't high on his priority list. He does what he has to when earning a buck or going for loot. But, the items and cash are the reward he's after. Not to be known or loved by others.
Now, when drinking he loves to tell his tales with embelishments of course. Make himself out to be a hero. But, those listening (and those trying not to listen) rarely believe a word the drunken old dwarf says.
So, he's not a nobody or a hero, but fun to play and fun to imagine. I've even considered moving him to an RP server some day. But, at $25 a move I'm not sure it would be worth it.

Transfer! You could probably even find a guild to pay your transfer fee!
