WoW Moviewatch: Fresh Oyster, Episode 1
Worthog appears to be a machinimator with not many videos under his belt, but it looks like that will change with this series. If he makes the music flow more smoothly and eliminates the awkward pauses in dialogue, he'll improve the quality greatly. Although he'll definitely need to work on his voice actors. Overall, I liked it for a new effort.

waste of 11 min of my life

Bloody awful. Usually I can at least stomach getting through the entire thing, but there's several things that killed it for me.
1) The excessively long and utterly pointless intro
2) No sense of timing, at all. Frequent spaces of complete dead-air, where nothing is going on at all. A prime example would be the introduction of Larry. Why does he stand there for 5 seconds before responding. Bad voice-acting is forgivable, voice-acting is not easy. Having an utterly disjointed and as such, unbelieveable conversation, is not.
3) Terrible lip-sync. This is not difficult, it just takes patience. This is slap-dash at best. Even my machinima had better lip-sync than this.
4) Lazy mistakes. Watch the boar killing scene and look at the orc in the background. Watch him walk 3/4s of the way across the background and then suddenly vanish. Retakes ftl, at least pick your locations more carefully.
Let's not even get into the utterly flat and unlikeable characters. I have no interest in them, and no reason to be interested. If a machinima hasn't grabbed me in the first 5 minutes, then it's really not worth watching. In this case, it wasn't even worth reviewing all the way to the end. Truly abysmal.

not bad for a first time a few parts made me laugh, I think you will just get better with time. Keep it up and don't let anyone discourage you. Practice makes perfect!

Not very high quality but I am glad to see that they were at least trying to do a real story rather than just slapping some random pop song on a long boring string of scenes. A+ for a step in the right direction for the 1st episode, C- on quality however.

Someone is trying to make something with a story behind, let's not totally discourage them. They need to work on a few things, but it has potential.

Yo what's up guys? Thanks for all the great comments and feedback it really helps out.
so to reply to you guys about some of the things you said
First of all it it just me and a friend working on the series out of my apartment in SF. We go to school together at the Art Institute of California San Francisco and for our film class we decided to start a machinima series because we're both huge fans of some of the great machinima's that have been put out there.

Thx for the feedback man been a big fan of wowradio for a long time now ^-^
1) The excessively long and utterly pointless intro
so what we were doing with the intro is doing a mock up to the movie hot rod if you've ever seen it, we thought it would be a good way to introduce our characters.
A lot of these errors were because our time was short, we had 4 weeks to work on it for class, and my buddy Jason lives in Sacramento so we could only really work on it two or three days out of the week because of his commute.
Also it's my first time editing and really working with something like this, it was a whole lot of work but we're proud with what we were able to accomplish in such a short time.
3) Terrible lip-sync. This is not difficult, it just takes patience. This is slap-dash at best. Even my machinima had better lip-sync than this.
Yes some of the lip-sync was off because of some hardware issues we were having. working with 30gb uncompressed files is pretty rough but we'll have it all fixed by our next eppisode.
4) Lazy mistakes. Watch the boar killing scene and look at the orc in the background. Watch him walk 3/4s of the way across the background and then suddenly vanish. Retakes ftl, at least pick your locations more carefully.
We've both though the same things, my only excuse for this one is we were short on time and had to let some things slide, but I can assure you all these problems will be fixed by our next episode.
I'm sorry you feel that way about our characters, we hope to make things more exciting and fun in our next episode where our characters travel inside rfc and we get to show a more action side of our characters.
I hope you guys keep an eye out for episode 2 it's planned to be much shorter somewhere around 5 min instead of 10, we have no window for a release date yet, but as soon as we do we'll be sure to let everyone know. If you have any other questions please feel free to e-mail us at. we're also looking for help, because with a crew of 2 it's hard to produce what we're going after, but we feel we can achieve what we want with time.
